Songjeong, Busan pork cutlet spot with 2nd-floor plant room: Deli
In short
Deli Donkatsu is an old-school pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant on Songjeong-jungang-ro 9beon-gil in Haeundae, Busan. Visiting on a weekday evening close to closing, the set menu was sold out, so the writer ordered a large portion, cheese cutlet, and fish cutlet, then explored the plant-filled second floor up the stairs beside the shop. Go early if you want the set menu, but the large portion and cheese cutlet alone made for a hearty meal.

Why I chose Deli Donkatsu
On a weekday evening, my boyfriend and I were craving old-school pork cutlet and went looking for a good spot, which is how we ended up at Deli Donkatsu, a well-known place in eastern Busan! 😋
First impression & atmosphere
Even from a distance, the big window glowing with warm lighting gave the place a cozy feel right away 🧱

Interior & seating
Walking through the door, the place was already packed with diners! Even though we came at a slightly awkward time close to closing, locals kept streaming in — this is clearly a neighborhood favorite that the locals themselves vouch for ☺️

The owner was so warm and kind to us that it warmed our hearts too 💛

The 2nd floor is a green plant space
Curious about the second floor before eating, I climbed the stairs beside the shop and found a lush green space full of plants 🌿

They actually sell these plants too, so browsing after your meal is a nice little bonus!

Menu board & the set menu sold out
I wanted the most popular item, the old-school pork cutlet set menu (₩9,500), but it was already sold out! If you want the set menu, I'd recommend going early 👍

What we ordered and how it tasted
- Large old-school pork cutlet ₩12,500
- Cheese cutlet ₩12,500
- Fish cutlet 2pc ₩3,500
- Chicken tender salad (review event)
Before the meal, the soup that's essential to old-school pork cutlet arrived, along with golden-toasted morning bread and strawberry jam! Warming up with the soup first felt so good 🥣

Large old-school pork cutlet
🥩 A cutlet that fills the whole big plate!

The crispy-fried cutlet is soaked with the sweet, savory house-made old-school sauce!

Pro tip: DELI TIP DIY sandwich
💡 Following the tip posted in the restaurant, I tried making a 'cutlet sandwich' out of it! 😋

Cheese cutlet
🧀 The moment you cut into it, the nutty cheese stretches endlessly — it passes the visual test right away 🥹

It's so packed with cheese that every bite made me happy 💛 If you like cheese, you'll definitely love this — it's the kind of flavor you keep thinking about.

Fish cutlet
🐟 For a wallet-friendly ₩3,500, you get two hefty pieces of fish cutlet topped with a generous amount of savory tartar sauce.

Crispy outside and tender, moist fish inside — I'd definitely recommend adding it as a side!

Chicken tender salad
🥗 This salad came through a Naver receipt review event, and the portion was so generous it was hard to believe it was free! Crisp fresh vegetables with crunchy chicken tenders paired really well with the cutlets 🌿

Rating & would I go back
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.8 / 5.0) — Would visit again ✔
Whether it's a sweet date spot for couples, a family meal out with kids, or just a no-pressure lunch spot in Songjeong, Busan, this place is worth a visit! You'll fall for the warm, hearty taste of old-school pork cutlet 💛
