Busan Station restaurant for icy mul milmyeon: Yeongdong Milmyeon
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch is a Korean restaurant beside Busan Station in Dong-gu, Busan. I had icy-broth mul milmyeon, clear yet deeply flavored dwaeji gukbap, and generously filled handmade dumplings. A satisfying, tidy first meal after arriving at Busan Station.

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap beside Busan Station

It is right beside Busan Station, so it was incredibly easy to reach on foot. If you are driving, you can use Asti Hotel Busan parking.
What are the location and interior like?

One side of the restaurant is made up of large windows, so I could eat with an open, airy feeling. As you would expect from a recently opened place, it was spotless and clean.

There are seats facing the windows along the window side, so it is also a restaurant where you can comfortably eat alone.

Along with disposable aprons, they have high chairs too, so it is great for visiting with children! 😚

Ordering from the table tablet

I could order through the tablet at the table, and payment was made upfront.
Looking through the menu, they had a variety of options, from milmyeon (Busan-style wheat noodles) and dwaeji gukbap (pork-and-rice soup) to suyuk baekban (boiled pork set meal) and handmade dumplings.

They also sell alcoholic drinks such as Daeseon, Terra, and Good Day, so you can have a drink with your meal too.
A neatly presented basic setting

After ordering at this restaurant I visited for lunch near Busan Station, the basic setting came out. Even the side dishes were served so neatly.

There were garlic chives, chili peppers, onion, garlic, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), kimchi, ssamjang (savory dipping paste), and danmuji (pickled radish) for the handmade dumplings.

And rather than having to serve myself warm broth, it came to the table in a kettle, which made it easy to enjoy!
Dwaeji gukbap, first clear then with dadegi

This is the dwaeji gukbap my boyfriend ordered. It was brought to the table bubbling right after it had been cooked.

I took a sip of the broth, and just like its milky appearance, it was deep in flavor while still tasting clear.

It was packed with meat, making for a hearty lunch, and there were plenty of finely sliced scallions too.

After eating the clear broth for a while, I added the red dadegi (seasoned chili paste) on the table and got to enjoy a whole different flavor. I added all the garlic chives as well.

It was the first meal I had after arriving at Busan Station, and I was satisfied because it was neat, clean, and filling.
Mul milmyeon with wonderful icy broth

Next was the mul milmyeon I ordered. When it comes to naengmyeon, I am absolutely a bibim naengmyeon person, but with milmyeon, I always find myself choosing the soup version.

Especially when it comes with this kind of finely frozen broth, it feels like drinking a slushie: it cools me down and never feels bland, which I love.

My boyfriend was going to have some too, so I ordered the large rather than the medium, and the portion of noodles was very generous.

The chewy noodles, cool, clean, and deeply flavored broth, boiled egg, and meat all came together beautifully.
Bite-size handmade dumplings with thin wrappers and generous filling

We added the handmade dumplings as a side, making the meal even more filling.

I do love dumplings, but my favorite kind is juicy, chewy dumplings with thin wrappers and lots of filling—and these were seriously delicious.

The handmade dumplings came bite-size. I was a little worried because the filling showed through slightly, but contrary to my concern, the wrappers did not feel thick at all.
The juices did not exactly drip out, but somehow it felt like the juices had soaked into every bit of filling, so they tasted full of juice! 🤤
