This weekend I visited Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi Seongseo Moda Outlet branch (신영웅청국장해물뚝배기 성서모다아울렛점), a famous restaurant near Moda Outlet in Daegu that has even appeared on TV!

Right by the door from the public parking lot into the restaurant there is a Catch Table (waiting app) kiosk. Just leave your phone number and wait comfortably 👍🏻
The restaurant displays its TV history: it was featured on "The Great Gourmet Trip" (위대한 미식가행) with Lee Seung-yun from "I Am a Natural Man." A place certified by a broadcast and a celebrity, so I was excited before even eating, haha!
Atmosphere and seating
The restaurant was much bigger and cleaner than I expected. The tables are spaced widely and it feels comfortable, so I think company dinners and big groups would have no problem here. Love it!
If you join the Naver receipt review event, you get either 2 fried shrimp or 1 lemonade per table as a free extra, so be sure to take advantage when you visit! 😉

In one corner of the restaurant there is a neatly kept self-service bar. You can help yourself to the side dishes as much as you like without feeling awkward, which was convenient!

Are there group rooms and solo dining seats?
The restaurant has both separate group room space and seats just for solo diners. Looking around the back, I saw partition walls that can divide the space. It is a great place for family meals and company dinners! I think it would be perfect to reserve for taking your parents, or for a company dinner or group gathering 😊
There were solo-dining seats too. The seating is arranged so that people eating alone can dine comfortably, and the owner's thoughtfulness and good sense are the best 👍
There is also a signature from Lee Seung-yun certifying the restaurant, and a baby chair is set aside in one corner.
How were the side dishes and the seafood chive pancake?
The side dishes are set out, along with a spicy sauce and soy sauce. The wasabi comes individually packaged, which I liked!
The seafood chive pancake (haemul buchu pajeon) was golden and crispy! The nicely browned pancake has fresh chives, shrimp and squid inside. Crispy outside and moist inside, it was delicious dipped in the sauce.
Seafood Boiling Platter (medium) ₩49,000: how were the portion and taste?
The medium Seafood Boiling Platter at Sin Yeongung costs ₩49,000, is full of seafood and butter aroma, and comes with pasta noodles laid on the bottom. A fresh seafood bomb on a huge platter, haha, piled up generously. The portion was bigger than I expected, which surprised me, lol.
The rich, nutty butter aroma is no joke, haha. Butter added to the spicy seafood jjim (steamed seafood) seasoning made the flavor deep and rich.
Flavor that fills your whole mouth, and fresh seafood! Up close, the octopus, squid, scallops, crab, shrimp, mussels and other seafood were all really fresh.
The pasta noodles at the bottom of the boil
Push the seafood aside a little and the bottom is full of pasta noodles! The spicy-sweet, nutty butter sauce soaks right into the noodles, so it felt like eating seafood pasta. French fries and corn come along too, so picking at different things was a lot of fun. The portion is truly enormous, big enough to satisfy even big eaters! 👏
There is a self-service coffee corner too!
