Weekend lunch at Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch: what the shop is like

Looking for something simple but filling for weekend lunch in Jamsil, I stopped by Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch! Maybe because it was weekend lunchtime, there were quite a lot of customers inside, and delivery orders kept coming in too. It seemed like a spot people rely on both for dine-in and delivery ㅇㅁㅇ

Walking in, the first thing that caught my eye was the open kitchen. The layout lets you see into the kitchen a bit from the ordering area, so you can watch the food being made. For a menu like sandwiches that's meant to be eaten fresh, having the kitchen open like this makes it feel a lot more reassuring haha.

Solo seats and terrace seats at Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch

Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch had more seating variety than I expected. Inside, along with regular table seats, there were solo seats great for a single visit, and outside there was a terrace area too. I liked that you can pick a seat depending on the situation, whether you're eating alone or with a friend.

This time I ordered the apple jambon-beurre, Town egg sando, pumpkin soup, and lemonade. It felt like a waste to just get a sandwich, so I added soup too, and the combo turned out pretty great.

Apple jambon-beurre: cinnamon apple compote with jambon and butter

First, the apple jambon-beurre has subtly cinnamon-scented apple compote paired with mild jambon ham and nutty butter. The sweet and salty flavors came together really well — since I love a sweet-salty combo, I enjoyed this so much! ✨

I especially liked the bread — it's made with baguette, so it was crisp outside and moist inside. As the jambon, butter, and apple compote blended softly together, the crunchy-chewy texture of the baguette kept coming through, giving it a totally different feel from a soft-bread sandwich...!

Town egg sando: egg mayo only, no vegetables

The one that personally stood out was the Town egg sando. I usually like egg mayo sandwiches, but this one felt a little different from the egg mayo I'd had before. The soft-textured egg mayo paired with the crisp baguette gave it a really nice texture.

I'd especially recommend this to anyone who likes an egg sandwich with only egg salad and no vegetables. If you prefer the plain, nutty taste of egg mayo itself over a sandwich loaded with vegetables, this will suit you well. With the baguette's signature crunch added in, it was surprisingly filling!

Pumpkin soup with toasted baguette pieces, plus lemonade

The pumpkin soup also came out warm, which paired nicely with the sandwich ~ It had a smooth texture with a gentle, sweet pumpkin flavor — nothing intense, just comfortable and easy to eat.

Along with the soup came crisply toasted baguette pieces. They're probably meant for dipping into the pumpkin soup, but this time I ended up just snacking on them like a cookie for dessert instead of dipping. And honestly, they were way more delicious than expected. So crunchy that I kept reaching for more haha.

Ordering the lemonade too was a nice refreshing way to finish off after the sweet sandwich and soup haha.

Would I go back to Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch?

Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch had a comfortable atmosphere and varied seating, so it seems like a good spot to visit alone next time, and it also worked well for a simple meal with a friend. If you like crisp baguette sandwiches especially, there's a lot on the menu worth trying! Next time I visit, I want to try the other sandwich options.
