Gwangju bakery café with Namhansanseong views: Sum
In short
Sum (숨) is a bakery café in Namhansanseong-myeon, Gwangju, Gyeonggi, with a main building, a quieter annex, terrace seating, and free private parking. I had coffee and pastries in the annex while looking out at the scenery; there was still a good selection around 3 pm, though some breads had sold out or disappeared while I was deciding.

While driving in Gwangju, Gyeonggi, I stopped by Sum (숨), a café near Namhansanseong. After looking around the main building and annex, I sat in the relatively quiet annex and had coffee and pastries while taking in the view.

How is the parking for visitors arriving by car?
The café is at 108-11 Ojeon-gil, Namhansanseong-myeon, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. When I arrived by car, spaces that had just opened up were quickly being filled, but the parking area still felt spacious. There is free private parking, which made it an easy stop during a drive.

Which is better for a quiet break: the main building or annex?
Through the main entrance, I found the area for choosing pastries and ordering. Even from the first floor of the main building, the floor-to-ceiling windows looked out onto the scenery.

From the first floor of the main building, I went out toward the terrace and walked to the annex. It was sunny on the day I visited, and some people were spending time on the terrace. The Namhansanseong scenery was visible all along the way.

The first floor of the annex had projected video and music, creating an atmosphere that felt good for conversation. I thought it would also be nice to sit there on a date.

I chose the second floor of the annex. The view had an autumn-like feel, and there were many seats and tables, so it looked suitable for families or groups as well.

When I visited, the annex was relatively quiet, while the second floor of the main building felt brighter and more comfortable for talking. I chose the annex because I wanted to rest quietly, but I think I would sit in the main building if I were there to chat.
Was there still a wide bread selection in the afternoon?
When I arrived around 3 pm, some breads had only one left and others were already sold out. Still, there was a wide variety to choose from. I was deciding between injeolmi bread (rice-cake powder bread), croissants, and more, but missed a few items while choosing.

What do coffee and drinks cost?
The original post lists the following prices for coffee and drinks.
- Americano ₩6,500
- Café latte and flat white ₩7,000 each
- Bonui chestnut latte ₩8,000
- Mocha cream latte ₩8,500
- Bora Bora lemonade ₩8,500
- Green grape ade and cheonggyul omija ade (green tangerine and five-flavor berry ade) ₩7,500 each
- Yogurt smoothie ₩7,500
- Strawberry yogurt smoothie ₩8,000

How were the pastries with coffee?
I ordered an Americano for ₩6,500, a café latte for ₩7,000, an almond kouign-amann for ₩4,900, and an éclair for ₩3,600. I initially planned to choose just one pastry, but ordered another after seeing the display.
I tried the éclair first. I felt it was best eaten right after ordering while it was cool. I also liked having a bite with coffee.
The almond kouign-amann also paired well with coffee. It was nice to take my time over the pastries and coffee while looking at the scenery. I thought it would be a good stop on a family outing to Namhansanseong or a drive for a date.
