Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is a beloved instant tteokbokki spot on the 1st floor of 112 Namdaemun-ro, Jung-gu, right next to the Megacoffee by Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station. It's open Monday to Friday from 10:40 to 21:00, and closed every Saturday and Sunday.

Hyeonseoni-ne 💖 is an instant tteokbokki favorite in Euljiro — it's famous among Jongno and Euljiro office workers as a great place to grab takeout after work! It's in the same building as Megacoffee, right next to it, so it's easy to find. Besides eating instant tteokbokki in the store, you can also get tteokbokki to go here!

Inside Hyeonseoni-ne: atmosphere and seating

Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch has that old-school (nopo) tteokbokki-shop vibe that fits Euljiro perfectly — it felt really unique and I loved it! Old-school as it is, the air conditioning was blasting, so it stayed cool and comfortable even in the middle of summer.

Every table has its own induction stove, which made it feel easy to stop by for instant tteokbokki after work. Since it opens at 10:40 Monday through Friday, it's also great for lunchtime, not just dinner like when I went 👍

I got takeout to eat at home after work, and I loved that the Hyeonseon Combo Set had not just tteokbokki but sundae, fried snacks, gimbap, and fish cake too, all in generous portions!! The three of us shared it and got really full~!

Being a tteokbokki shop, tteokbokki is naturally the best menu item — sweet and spicy in a way that keeps you reaching for more. And it wasn't too spicy either, which I loved ♥ My parents, who ate it with me, also said the tteokbokki was really delicious!!

Fried snacks back in the air fryer at home

I brought the fried snacks home and ran them through the air fryer one more time — they turned out super crispy and really tasty! (If you have time, try reheating them in an air fryer like I did for extra crunch.) They also gave a good variety of fried items, which were perfect for dipping into the tteokbokki broth~!

Four rolls of mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls)

The gimbap comes as mini gimbap with four rolls, nutty and delicious — highly recommend this too!! Being mini gimbap, it's also easy to eat, which is a plus 😀

Is Hyeonseoni-ne worth the takeout trip?

With sundae and fish cake alongside everything else, the menu at Hyeonseoni-ne is really varied, so it was great for trying a bit of everything! The portions are generous and the value is excellent too, so I think I'll be back often~!
