Mungteong Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch is a grilled pork restaurant near Sinjung-dong Station’s dining alley in Bucheon. My friend and I ordered the One Plate Set; the pork was tender and free of any off smell, and the shrimp salt was my favorite accompaniment.

Where is this grilled pork restaurant near Sinjung-dong Station?
My friend and I went to Mungteong Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch (뭉텅 부천신중동점), in the dining alley near Sinjung-dong Station, to eat grilled pork. It was both of our first visits. The address is 36 Jungdong-ro 254beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and the hours listed in the original post are 4:00–11:00 PM on weekdays and 12:00–11:00 PM on weekends.

Are group tables and pets allowed?
There were tables for four and group tables for eight, so I thought it could work for a gathering with friends or a work dinner. It was also introduced as a place where pets are allowed.

They sliced the meat as soon as we ordered, and we could watch the process from our table. Seeing the meat being prepared stayed with me.

We booked ahead through Naver before visiting. There was also a reservation card on the table.
What comes in the One Plate Set?
After looking over the menu, we ordered the One Plate Set.

The banchan (side dishes) included potato salad, pickled side dishes, shrimp salt to have with the meat, and meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce). I kept reaching for the potato salad because it was tasty.

Napa cabbage kimchi and green onion kimchi were served too. The original post introduced the cabbage kimchi as three-month-aged mukeunji from Jeolla; when I tried it, I especially liked its refreshing flavor.

The plate of meat included pork neck, pork belly, and pork shoulder, along with eggplant, green onion, and mushrooms. The pork was cut thickly.

At first, a staff member grilled the meat for us. We added chili peppers and garlic to the meljeot.
For the stew included with the set, we could choose doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) or gochujang-jjigae (chili paste stew). We chose the gochujang-jjigae; it had plenty of ingredients, and its spicy flavor suited my taste, so I added a bowl of rice.

How did the meat and accompaniments taste?
Once cooked, the meat was placed on the upper grill. It was juicy, with no off smell, and tender rather than chewy.

I tried the meat with shrimp salt, shiitake wasabi, and meljeot. Of the different options, the shrimp salt suited my taste best.

How were the pork skin and the end of the meal?
We also ate the pork skin included with the set. If you do not prefer pork skin, you can choose sausage instead.

We ate the pork skin coated in soybean powder.

After the meal, we refreshed our palates with a slushie. It was our first time there, and the tender meat with shrimp salt was especially memorable.
