Euljiro 3-ga gyukatsu restaurant for a Friday date night: Hurato
In short
Hurato Sikdang Euljiro (후라토식당 을지로점) is a gyukatsu (breaded, seared beef cutlet) restaurant in Euljiro 3-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul. Missing the old COEX branch, the writer went on a Friday evening with her boyfriend, ordered 2 sirloin gyukatsu and a Coke Zero, and grilled each piece on the mini burner set at every table. Hurato Sikdang's gyukatsu still has the same clean yet rich flavor, more than enough to make up for losing the COEX location.

It was Friday evening, the end of the week, and I wanted to shake off a week of tiredness with a nice dinner with my boyfriend somewhere with a good atmosphere. Euljiro is where retro charm and hip energy live side by side in the middle of a busy city 🏢
Hurato Sikdang vanished from COEX, and I found it again in Euljiro 3-ga
I used to love the Hurato Sikdang (후라토식당) gyukatsu at its old COEX branch and went often, and I was so sad when it disappeared 🥲 So I was happy to find it again at Hurato Sikdang Euljiro (후라토식당 을지로점) in Euljiro 3-ga, which is where this visit took place.
Since it was a Friday evening, I hurried a little in case the wait got long, and luckily we got a cozy seat and a relaxed time 🗓️ With so many memories attached, I went in with high hopes, and here is my honest record of our dinner date 📝
Friday evening, the flutter of the Euljiro 3-ga alleys 🌿

I really love that excited Friday-evening air that marks the end of the week 💫 The streets were lively with office workers heading home and couples out on dates, and we walked calmly toward our destination, chatting 🚶♀️🚶♂️

What is the atmosphere like at Hurato Sikdang Euljiro?
Hurato Sikdang Euljiro is a cozy, wood-toned Japanese restaurant on the basement level (B1) of a clean, tidy building. It has a reputation as a good spot in Euljiro 3-ga, and the moment we opened the door, the noise outside faded into a calm, snug interior 🤎

The warm, wood-toned lighting made the tiredness of the Friday evening melt away 🕯️
Friday dinner order: 2 gyukatsu and a Coke Zero
Ordered: 2 gyukatsu and a Coke Zero 🥩🥤

At Hurato Sikdang we ordered two of the signature gyukatsu and a Coke Zero. I looked over the menu after sitting down, and happy to see it again after so long, I picked two gyukatsu and a Coke Zero to go with them 🍽️

While we were chatting, the appetizing gyukatsu that brought back old memories was set on our table ❤️
The eye-catching look of sirloin gyukatsu
Hurato Sikdang's gyukatsu comes as sirloin sliced to a good thickness. The coating is thin and crisp, and the inside keeps its fresh, red color 🥩

Just the neat way it was arranged on the plate was enough to bring the old memories back.
How do you grill the gyukatsu at Hurato Sikdang?
The charm of the mini burner on the table
At Hurato Sikdang you grill the gyukatsu yourself on a personal mini burner at each table. That mini burner is the best part of the place 🔥 A hot plate sits over solid fuel, and it is great fun to place the pieces on it and grill them to the doneness you like 🥢
Enjoying the grill with that sizzle

When you lay the gyukatsu on the heated stone plate, it gives a lively sizzle and a gentle, savory meat aroma wafts up 💨 Cook it only until the surface turns lightly golden, add a little wasabi, dip it in the special sauce, and you get the full texture that melts softly in your mouth 🤤
Coke Zero for a clean finish
A sip of cold, fizzy Coke Zero now and then refreshed my mouth, so I could enjoy every piece down to the last without getting tired of it 🧊
How was Hurato Sikdang Euljiro for a Friday evening date?
It was Friday evening, so the restaurant was full of lively customers, but the tables were spaced well, so my boyfriend and I could sit side by side and talk and eat without any problem 🪞 The light yet rich flavor of the gyukatsu was still great, enough to soothe my sadness over the lost COEX branch 🦋
Above all, grilling piece by piece on the burner to my own taste was a perfect little date activity. The food came out at a good pace, and the staff were calm and kind, so we felt a comfortable warmth the whole time we were there 🤝
Wrapping up
On a Friday evening that makes you forget the week's fatigue, I sat beside someone I like, grilling food with old memories on a warm mini burner and chatting about little things. I think I will remember that time for a long while 🎯
If you want to ease an old disappointment and enjoy a good meal in a calm mood, Hurato Sikdang in Euljiro 3-ga is a place worth stopping by 🤝
