Jeju rice cake shop on Noyeon-ro: no-wait omegi-tteok pickup, Suragan
In short
Suragan Tteokbang (수라간떡방) is a rice cake shop on Noyeon-ro in Jeju City that sells omegi-tteok, Jeju's signature souvenir rice cake, along with traditional treats like yakbap (sweet sticky rice) and yakgwa (honey cookies). On the last day of the trip, the writer picked up a pre-booked 20-piece omegi-tteok set from Suragan Tteokbang with no wait and was happy with the neat box packaging and the not-too-sweet red bean coating. For Jeju travelers on a tight schedule, reserving ahead and picking up at Suragan Tteokbang is the easiest option.

Why I chose omegi-tteok as a Jeju souvenir
Jeju omegi-tteok (a chewy millet rice cake coated in red bean powder) is one of those food souvenirs you just can't skip after a trip to Jeju! It brings back the memories of the trip once you're home, and it's great as a gift for family and friends, so this time I stopped by the Jeju rice cake shop Suragan Tteokbang (수라간떡방) and packed some up 📦

Can you pick up Suragan Tteokbang's omegi-tteok right away if you reserve?
This time I ordered a set of 20 omegi-tteok at Suragan Tteokbang~! Since I had reserved ahead, I didn't have to wait at all and could pick it up right away, which was really convenient 👍🏻 My last day of the trip was packed, so saving time was a big plus!

If you're planning a Jeju trip and can't decide what to bring back, I recommend Jeju omegi-tteok!! Everyone from kids to grandparents likes the taste, so gift satisfaction is high, and it's meaningful too because it's a signature Jeju food 🍊

Is delivery or buying single pieces possible?
Suragan Tteokbang's omegi-tteok can also be shipped, so you don't have to lug it back heavy! Single pieces are available ✅ Bulk orders too ✅

Besides omegi-tteok, there are traditional tteok like yakbap and yakgwa
The first thing I noticed as soon as I walked into Suragan Tteokbang was the huge variety of tteok (rice cakes)~! Many people come looking for Jeju omegi-tteok, but there were also yakbap (sweet glutinous rice with nuts and dates), yakgwa (traditional honey cookies) and all kinds of traditional tteok, so just browsing was fun! There were lots of combinations good for gifts too, so next time I want to buy several kinds together haha

The shop is tidy and the staff were friendly, so buying here was a pleasant experience 🥰 Being able to reserve is a big plus too, and I especially recommend it for anyone with a tight travel schedule! If you order in advance, you can swing by at whatever time you want and pick it up, which is so much more convenient~!

How is the omegi-tteok gift packaging?
The omegi-tteok I ordered at Suragan Tteokbang came carefully packed in a neat box! It's packed so the tteok doesn't get jumbled while you travel, which gave me peace of mind, and it feels classy enough to hand over as a gift ◡̈ Packaging matters for Jeju gifts, and I was happy with that part too 🎁

How does Suragan Tteokbang's omegi-tteok taste?
Suragan Tteokbang's omegi-tteok has a chewy texture, a generous coating of sweet red bean powder, and isn't too sweet. I tried one right when I got home! And omegi-tteok really is good any time you eat it 😋 With the first bite... I was reminded of my time in Jeju haha It's not too sweet, so it's easy to eat without feeling heavy, and it went well with coffee or tea too~!

Is 20 pieces too many? Freezing tip
Omegi-tteok is still delicious if you freeze it and let it thaw naturally, so it's a good one to buy plenty of! I thought 20 pieces would be a lot, but eating it with my family it disappeared faster than expected lol So next time I plan to buy a bit more!
If you're looking for tasty Jeju omegi-tteok or a Jeju rice cake shop you can trust, visit Suragan Tteokbang ⭐️ You can get neat packaging, tasty tteok and a variety of traditional snacks all in one place, so I think you'll be satisfied ◡̈
