Seokchon Lake Korean BBQ date: 1++ hanwoo snowflake ribeye, Yukmong

In short

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul, a five-minute walk from both Jamsil Station and Songpanaru Station, with seating across the basement and the first and second floors. A couple stopped in after a walk around Seokchon Lake and ordered two servings of grade 1++ hanwoo snowflake ribeye (120g per person, 49,000 won), grilled for them at the table, then finished with Yukmong's mul-milmyeon (cold noodles in chilled broth). One bottle of wine or whiskey is corkage-free, so the couple opened a bottle brought from home — an easy date spot for beef and a lakeside stroll.

First photo from the visit to Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch

My husband and I took a trip out to Jamsil today after a while. The heat had eased up a bit, making it a great day to stroll around Seokchon Lake and check out the Bangi-dong food alley packed with restaurants. Along the way we got hungry and headed toward a Korean BBQ place I'd had my eye on — Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch, honestly a great spot for a Seokchon Lake Korean BBQ date. The exterior, the food, the service — all of it was really good. Plus, since it's corkage-free, we even brought wine from home to set the mood. So here's my review of this Seokchon Lake favorite, Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch!

Where is Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch? Hours and parking

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is located at 9-13 Ogeum-ro 15-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea, and it's open daily from 12:00 to 24:00. It's corkage-free, and there are about 2 parking spots in front of the store, so it's best to call ahead.

The restaurant sits right in the middle of the Bangi-dong food alley, between Jamsil Station and Songpanaru Station, and it's a five-minute walk from both — really convenient access on foot. It's a newly opened spot, so the exterior looks sleek and full of that current trendy vibe.

There's a menu board displayed right next to the entrance, so it's worth checking the menu and prices before going in. Most of the prices looked reasonable and the meat looked great too, so we headed straight inside.

Neatly arranged tables at the Korean BBQ restaurant

Seating on three floors, private rooms included

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch is a large Korean BBQ restaurant spread across the basement, 1st, and 2nd floors, with the space laid out really well. Overall it had a clean, Japanese-influenced feel that stood out, and each table was arranged with a good sense of privacy, making it really comfortable for eating. It seemed like a great spot for business dinners, important meetings, group get-togethers, family gatherings, or wedding invitation meetups — any occasion, really.

The basement floor has a lot of private rooms, which looked great for group dinners or more private gatherings. The interior was also clean and stylish, making it a really nice fit for both dates and work dinners.

The 2nd floor stood out for its open, airy seating and a spacious layout perfect for group dinners as well — really well put together. It seems like a great choice if you're looking for a Bangi-dong spot for a work dinner.

Menu prices and how the corkage-free policy works

The menu at Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch ranges from a special mixed set featuring both hanwoo (Korean beef) and handon (Korean pork) to separate hanwoo and handon sets, plus items you can order individually. They also have a signature dish called Shrek Galbi (ribs), made with matcha, minari (water dropwort), and basil — definitely worth trying if you visit.

Corkage-free notice with the drinks menu

The best thing about Yukmong is that it's corkage-free! One bottle of wine or whiskey is free, so pairing great meat with good drinks over a glass sounds like a wonderful idea. Beyond corkage, they also have a wide selection of traditional liquor and wine on the menu, so ordering those is a great option too!

What we ordered: snowflake ribeye for two plus mul-milmyeon

  • Snowflake ribeye for two
  • Yukmong mul-milmyeon

We were craving beef today, so we ordered the grade-1++ hanwoo snowflake ribeye for two. Each serving is 120g, and at ₩49,000 for snowflake ribeye, that felt like a reasonable price, so we ordered right away.

Table of basic side dishes including shredded scallions and spicy-marinated cucumbers

The basic side dishes included shredded scallions, tot (seaweed) and dasima (kelp), pickles, and the owner's own homemade spicy-marinated cucumbers, along with herring roe salad, mu-saengchae (spicy radish salad), and kimchi. All the side dishes were delicious and well-seasoned, honestly good enough to finish a whole bowl of rice on their own haha.

Our snowflake ribeye came out quickly, and there was more meat than I expected, with really even marbling and texture throughout — genuinely great-looking beef.

Tableside grilling and eating the ribeye with wasabi

Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch offers a full tableside grilling service where staff cook the meat for you, and they grilled it so tender, soft, and delicious — the skill really showed 👍

Salt is the classic choice for the first bite, but my husband and I love wasabi. Meat goes with wasabi, haha. It paired really well, and eating it together with the herring roe or mu-saengchae also worked great, so I'd recommend trying that combo too. But honestly, the moment the meat hit my mouth, it just melted, and even without any butter added, there was a subtle buttery aroma — you could really tell this was quality beef.

Wine and wine glasses enjoyed thanks to the corkage-free policy

When my husband pulled out the bottle of wine we'd brought, the staff asked how many wine glasses we needed. Corkage-free service really is love...! They said it paired amazingly well with the wine and seemed genuinely happy about it.

Mul-milmyeon ordered for dessert
Thick noodles and cool broth of the mul-milmyeon

After eating our fill, the mul-milmyeon we'd ordered for dessert arrived — the noodles were nice and thick, and the cool broth was refreshing, making for a really satisfying finish.

Is Yukmong Bangi a good Seokchon Lake date course?

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to Yukmong Bangi Direct Branch — the interior, the service, and the taste of the meat were all so satisfying that I think anyone would leave a Seokchon Lake Korean BBQ date here with no regrets. I'd also recommend it as a work dinner spot~!
