I visited Loventa Suwon Haenggung (반지공방 로벤타 수원행궁), a brand-new ring workshop that just opened in Haenggung-dong, one of Suwon's hot spots! You can make your own special couple rings in a private room, so it was a perfect date course. I'd recommend it if you want a cozy, unusual date instead of the same old meal-and-café routine. A one-of-a-kind ring we made with our own hands 💍

What are the private rooms at Loventa Suwon Haenggung like?

The whole workshop is made up of private rooms, and ours was in front of a floor-to-ceiling window with a view of Haenggung-dong. Fitting for a fresh shop that opened on June 8, the interior was really clean and stylish the moment we walked in.

Our space in particular sat in front of that big window with an open view of Haenggung-dong, so my mood lifted right from the start. The second we stepped into the room, a view that makes you gasp was just right there!

Above all, what I liked most was that everything is set up as private rooms. There was no noise from around us and no need to feel self-conscious, so we could focus purely on each other and enjoy a cozy date.

How does the couple ring making work?

Choosing a design: 30 minutes of deliberating

Maybe because the workshop belongs to a designer with 30 years of experience, there was a huge variety of couple ring designs. Every one was pretty, so choosing was really hard, and we seriously deliberated for a whole 30 minutes!

The designs are set as men's and women's by default, but they told us it's totally fine to pick the same design (either the men's or the women's) for both. Honestly, everything looked pretty on us... how is that even possible

Sizing and hand work: about 1 hour

Once the design is settled, they carefully measure your ring finger size. They explain each step of the ring-making process kindly, so even beginners can follow easily. You learn one step, work on it together, then press the call bell, and staff check your work and explain the next step.

I also liked that it didn't feel pressured: we could work comfortably and lovey-dovey, and only call a staff member when needed! After about 1 hour of busily making the ring as taught, my affection for it grew so much more.

Waiting for completion and same-day pickup

Since we contribute with our own hands, it definitely felt more special and precious. When the making is done, you hand it over to the expert and wait, and you can pick it up the same day!

When we went, custom orders were backed up and another team overlapped with us, so we were told it would take about 1.5 to 2 hours. They said they'd contact us when it was done, so we wandered around Haenggung-dong, ate a meal and carried on our date happily~

How did the finished Ether couple rings turn out?

The design we chose at Loventa Suwon Haenggung was Ether, and we were satisfied with everything: the gemstone detail, the shine and how it feels to wear. While we were leisurely eating and playing claw machines, the phone call came! We ran over right away. And here are our rings we picked up... the reveal!!!

Seeing the finished rings, we both were genuinely moved, and even at the café afterward we kept staring at our rings.. Never mind how pretty the design is, the quality is so good!!! We were extremely happy with the gemstone detail, the glossy diamond-like sparkle, the fit and everything..!
