Suwon laptop café with decaf Americano and 4th-floor seats: Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters

In short

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch is a café at the entrance of Haengri-dan-gil in Suwon that occupies an entire building. Visiting alone on a weekday morning, I ordered a decaf iced Americano for ₩6,000 and an American cookie for ₩4,500, and sat at a long table with outlets on the quiet 4th floor. Even the decaf tastes great here, making it a solid spot to settle in with a laptop or study.

The AC was blasting full power at Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters — you order on B1 and then head upstairs. The entire building is the Haenggung Main Branch!

Sign for the signature coconut coffee

Jeong Ji-young Coffee's signature drink is the coconut coffee. Didn't get to try it this time... definitely next time. The reviews are great, but since I'm kind of a dieter, I held back ㅠ

What's on the menu?

The menu board at this Haenggung-dong café. There are 3 types of hand-drip coffee, and for the basic coffee menu you can pick from 3 kinds of beans! There were also non-coffee drinks, though the drink lineup wasn't huge. There are desserts and cakes too, and the Haenggung branch runs as a no-kids zone :)

Dessert and cake display case

When I visited there were 3 kinds of cake on offer — the lineup seems to change with the season, and lately the Earl Grey fig cake has been the hot one haha. Cakes piled with fruit that looked so good.

Besides cake, there were also cookies, madeleines, and honey rusk. Since I went early in the morning, the honey rusk was already sold out... darn haha

Cookies, madeleines and other baked goods on display

Since they have cake, you could also buy birthday candles — cute animal-shaped ones.

Fun browsing the beans and goods

Jeong Ji-young Coffee is well known for great-tasting coffee, and they sell a range of coffee goods too — beans, drip bags, cold brew and more. The coffee really was delicious, so I'm planning to grab some drip bags next time!

Display corner of coffee goods

Since the brand first started here in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, they also sell a lot of Suwon-themed goods~ If you're visiting Haengri-dan-gil in Haenggung-dong, be sure to grab one of these Suwon souvenirs!

There were also all kinds of Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters branded goods — short-sleeve t-shirts, mugs, and more — so it was fun just to browse :)

Photo-spot-like interior space in the café

Every corner of this café felt hip. So many photo spots — great for a date, and just as good to visit alone!! I went on a weekday morning so it wasn't crowded at all, and I could enjoy it at a relaxed pace haha

I went with the decaf bean iced Americano! Also picked up an American cookie. I'm a dieter so I should have skipped the cookie, but it looked too good so I just went for it haha... couldn't resist the peanut strawberry.

Restroom & Wi-Fi tips

The restroom and Wi-Fi passwords are printed on your receipt, so don't throw it away — hang on to it!

There are separate women's and men's restrooms, each on a different floor!! The women's restroom even had 2 stalls, which was even better haha

For laptop work, take the 4th-floor seats

I sat on the 4th floor instead of the 2nd, and it's quieter and perfect for solo work! A space to enjoy music, books, and the view. You can't really have a loud conversation here, so it's great for working solo with a laptop, or studying too!

The tables come in different styles — there are sofa seats and round tables for chatting together. Since it's the 4th floor, quite high up, it's also great for enjoying the view outside.

There was also this long, straight table with outlets underneath — great for working here. Perfect for charging your laptop or phone~

How the decaf Americano and American cookie taste

A lot of places make decaf that just doesn't taste great, but Jeong Ji-young Coffee is a genuine coffee gem ㅠㅠㅠ At ₩6,000 it's not exactly cheap, but even as someone who doesn't know much about coffee, you can tell the beans are high quality. No wonder it's a Suwon local institution.

The American cookie I bought alongside it was ₩4,500, and it was a real little happiness moment... it was way better than I expected, I was surprised haha. This place nails cookies too!!! The peanut cookie was loaded with strawberry jam, perfect for a sugar recharge haha. I came alone this time, but next time I'll have to come back for a date ><
