Icheon dessert café for mild coffee and Basque cheesecake: Lapins

When we arrived, the neat exterior with “LAPINS” written on it was the first thing we saw. There was also space to park right in front of the café, so it was convenient even when visiting by car. 🚗 We came by car that day too.

A white interior paired with plants

As soon as we opened the door, my first impression was, “Wow, it’s so neat!” The space was mostly decorated in white, with wooden chairs and green plants placed throughout. 🌿 Rather than feeling overly styled, it had a clean, comfortable atmosphere. The combination of white, wood, and plants was especially calming just to look at. It felt like a nice place to chat over coffee with friends or simply sit down and take a little break.

On one side, there was a large vintage speaker and audio equipment, which quietly became a focal point of the café atmosphere. 🎶 That vintage touch amid the clean interior made the space feel even more charming.

There was a separate dessert showcase by the counter. It was fun to look over everything, from tarts to cakes.

The signature fig Earl Grey tart in the photo looks pretty tempting too, right? 😍 There were desserts to choose from according to your taste, including Uji matcha Basque cheesecake and Basque cheesecake. I also spotted plain financiers and pecan caramel financiers on the side. Looking further into the café, there was an open area with an oven and various tools that seemed to be used for baking. So I wondered if they baked everything themselves—but one thing was certain: the desserts were really delicious! 😆

We chose two hot Americanos, one iced Americano, one slice of Basque cheesecake, and two financiers.

A nutty, mild Americano

The first thing I tried was the Americano! It was ₩4,500. I took the first sip and thought, oh... this is good? 👀 I prefer coffee that goes down nutty and mild rather than coffee with strong acidity, and

Lapins’ Americano was exactly that kind of coffee. Rather than hitting you with a sharp bitterness, it was smooth and easy to drink, with a nutty flavor that suited my taste perfectly. Especially after a bite of sweet dessert, a sip of Americano... that pairing is just so good. ☕️🍰 I think I’ll remember this place for the coffee alone.

Dense yet smooth Basque cheesecake

And then there was the Basque cheesecake I’d been looking forward to! I liked its thick slice from the moment I saw it in the showcase, haha. After one bite, it had a rich cheese flavor and a dense texture. But it wasn’t only heavy—it melted softly in the mouth! I loved that combination of dense and smooth. The savory cheese flavor came through nicely too, so if you like cheesecake, I think it’s worth trying. Once I tasted it, I understood why I wanted to introduce it as a great cake spot in Icheon. 🧀💛

A financier crisp outside and moist inside

We tried the financiers too. When I cut one with a fork, the outside was lightly crisp while the inside was moist—exactly the crisp-outside, moist-inside texture I love. And best of all, it wasn’t overly sweet! Its moderate sweetness made it great with coffee, and I kept reaching for it. A sip of coffee → a bite of financier → another sip of coffee... eating it like that, it disappeared in no time. 😂

After visiting Lapins, it felt like more than simply a pretty café—the coffee and desserts drew my attention even more. The nutty, mild Americano was especially perfect for my taste, and I enjoyed the dense yet smooth Basque cheesecake and crisp-yet-moist financiers too. On top of that, the clean white space and green plants placed throughout made the coffee time itself feel more relaxed. 🌿☕️ If you’re looking for an Icheon dessert café where you can enjoy coffee and dessert together, stop by Lapins sometime. On my next visit, I want to try the tart that caught my eye in the showcase too. 💕 Lapins gave me that eyes-wide-awake feeling with a sip of coffee and lifted my mood with a bite of dessert. ☕️🤍
