My husband loves dogs, so I went looking for a place where we could meet cute puppies even without a dog of our own, and that's how we ended up at The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo. It's near Gimpo Airport, so it's handy if you need dog boarding or care before or after a trip, and it's also a dog hotel I'd happily recommend as an unusual date spot in western Seoul 😊

The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo: location, hours and parking
The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo is at 121 Garogongwon-ro, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor, and is open Monday to Sunday, 12:00–22:00. The play room (drop-off care) is available from 08:10.

- Parking: yes, at the shop

How to get to The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo from Gimpo Airport
The shop is about 10 minutes by car from Gimpo Airport, which makes it a good place for boarding or care before or after a trip. The Kookmin Bank Sinwol-dong Branch bus stop, served by buses 6625, 6628 and 6648, is right in front of the shop, so it's easy to reach if you're on one of those routes.

If you drive, there's a parking lot behind the building, and when it's full you have to use a nearby paid lot. The lot was full when we visited, so we used the Garogongwon public parking lot. If you park behind the building, you can enter through a back passage, but the shop had probably only just opened when we went, because the passage was blocked and we had to walk around to the front 😅

What are the rules at The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo?
Only dogs under 7kg that have completed their rabies vaccination are allowed in, and picking dogs up inside the shop is prohibited. We read the rules notice before going in.
- Only dogs under 7kg with completed rabies vaccination are allowed
- No outside treats; only treats provided by staff may be given
- No lifting dogs inside the shop (including onto tables or sofas)
This dog hotel near Gimpo Airport is an all-in-one space with dog boarding, a play room, grooming and a café in one place. There's room for dogs to run around, plus boarding and grooming, so play, rest and care are all covered in one spot, which is a real plus.

How much is the dog café if you don't bring a dog?
If you only use the café, it's ₩10,000 entry per person plus one drink per person. Boarding is ₩50,000 per day and the play room is ₩25,000 per day.

There's a range of drinks, from americano and latte to ades and smoothies, so you can pick what you like. We ordered an iced vanilla latte and an iced Waltz latte.

Inside The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo: layout and seating
The interior was clean and pleasant, with plenty of seating. But since we came to spend time with cute puppies, the seats were just a place to put our bags and drinks 🤣🤣

The front of the shop sells dog treats and pretty clothes, so if you come with your own dog it looks like a nice place to browse.

What to wear to a dog café in Seoul
If you want to really play with the dogs here, sitting on the floor is the way to go, so I recommend wearing something comfortable to sit on the floor in.

This is why you sit on the floor!! A puppy just walks right into your lap 🥰 (I didn't pick him up and bring him over!)

The resident dogs we met at The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo
When we visited, there were resident dogs and a dog staying for boarding. As time went on, some guests arrived with their own dogs, and others dropped off their dogs for a bath after a trip, so we got to see all kinds of visitors.

There was even a puppy about 70 days old, but he was in a separate area, so we could only admire him with our eyes.

On nice days you can also see the dogs out on the terrace enjoying the sunshine.

Dogs who've played hard and tired themselves out lean against the wall and nap, and even their sleeping is adorable 🥰

Just sitting there quietly, this pup is so, so cute ❣️

Is a dog café a good date idea if you don't have a dog?
Spending time with the cute dogs at The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo, the 3 hours flew by. Reluctant to leave, we gave the dogs one last look each, tidied up and headed out.
If you're looking for dog boarding or care near Gimpo Airport, or a date spot in western Seoul where you can meet dogs without having one, I recommend visiting this dog hotel, The Waltz & Joypia Gangseo 😊
