Gopchang spot in Daegu Technopolis with cheese fire show: Gopchang 119
In short
Gopchang 119 Hyeonpung Technopolis branch is a small gopchang (pork intestine) restaurant with about 5 tables in Technopolis, Yuga-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu. Gopchang 119 smokes its pork gopchang over charcoal, coats it in a house seasoning and serves it fully cooked from the kitchen; the A set costs 29,000 won, and adding cheese for 3,000 won comes with a fire show. If you want smoky, odor-free gopchang without doing any grilling yourself, Gopchang 119 is a great choice.

No long intro needed: Gopchang 119 Hyeonpung Technopolis branch (곱창119 현풍테크노폴리스점) is a Daegu Technopolis favorite with generous portions, and everything arrives fully grilled.

To get rid of that pork gopchang funk, Gopchang 119 smokes the gopchang over charcoal and then coats it in a special seasoning. They pile creamy cheese on top and even put on a flashy fire show, so it's a treat for both your mouth and your eyes. Here's my review of this Daegu Technopolis spot that anyone, young or old, can enjoy.

What's the interior like?

The air was clean and comfortable, with no smoke or harsh smell. It's a small place with about 5 tables, and it felt like a hideout for chatting quietly with friends, which I liked.

Delivery drivers kept coming in the whole time I was eating, which made me realize all over again how popular Gopchang 119 is in Daegu Technopolis.
What's on the menu at Gopchang 119 in Hyeonpung?

The menu is pretty varied: egg gopchang, vegetable gopchang, salt-grilled makchang (pork large intestine), beef gopchang hot pot, and salt-grilled chicken neck meat, so you can pick whatever you like. Prices aren't a burden, so it's a safe lineup whether it's your first round or second.
Discount events at Gopchang 119

There are good-value events all over the shop. They run a Danggeun event and a prize draw event, plus 50% off alcohol for ages 60 and over. The owner's generosity really shows in these big discounts, and I thought it would be a great place to bring your parents for a family meal.

And of course there's the Naver receipt review event! Leave even a short review and you get a free extra cheese serving or a drink, so don't forget to claim it.
What I ordered and the prices

- A set (1 vegetable gopchang + 1 egg gopchang) ₩29,000
- Extra cheese ₩3,000
- Fried rice ₩3,000
How did the gopchang taste?

The basic setting is perilla leaves, pickled radish and bean sprout soup. And that soup was so refreshing, wow~~ I popped open the soju before the main dish even arrived, haha!
The fully grilled A set, about 10 minutes
The A set took roughly ten minutes to come out. It's fully cooked in the kitchen, so there's no hassle of flipping and grilling it yourself, which is so convenient.

Extra cheese for ₩3,000, and the fire show
At Gopchang 119, you just add ₩3,000 and they put cheese on top. And they seriously pour it on. See how thick that cheese is? Wow! The owner is so generous!! You also get to watch the fire show live, so definitely add the cheese.

I ordered the A set, which mixes egg gopchang and vegetable gopchang, and having both together makes for a really hearty plate.

It had a lovely subtle smoky flavor, and I couldn't detect any of that typical gopchang gaminess, so even people sensitive to smells should be able to enjoy it.

With mayonnaise sauce, perilla leaves and pickled garlic
The seasoning is so good that it's great on its own, but dipping it into the mayonnaise sauce that comes alongside makes it even smoother.

Wrapping it in a fresh perilla leaf is also a real treat. The thing next to the chili pepper is pickled garlic, and it's a little devil, so pile it on!

The vegetables and glass noodles are all soaked in the seasoning and addictive. The flavor really hooks you and keeps the drinks flowing, so even though it was a weekday, I ended up drinking too much.

Is the finishing fried rice a must-order?
The finale at Gopchang 119 is the essential Korean course, the "K-dessert" fried rice (₩3,000). I ate a fair amount of the vegetables, glass noodles and gopchang first, then had the rice fried.

Of course the fried rice also comes fully cooked from the kitchen, so there's no worry about sauce splattering or smells sticking to your clothes. Delivery via Baemin is possible, but I recommend eating in the restaurant!
Verdict: Gopchang 119 Hyeonpung Technopolis branch
Gopchang 119 is a Daegu Technopolis favorite with great flavor and the comfort of not lifting a finger. It's a truly local place where you can clink glasses in a cozy atmosphere, so if you want proper smoky flavor, I recommend Gopchang 119 in Daegu Technopolis.
