Eating out these days makes opening your wallet kind of scary, doesn't it? I agonize every time I eat out too. But whenever I'm craving handmade hamburg steak in Baegot, the place I keep going back to is Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch (정씨함박 배곧점).

Where do you park at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch?
Just park in the basement of the building! The underground car park is very spacious, so parking is easy.
Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch atmosphere
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, toward the back of the shopping complex. It isn't hard to find, and it feels clean and tidy right from the entrance, doesn't it? I go regularly, so I came away happy again this time.

There's a menu board at the entrance, so you can look over the menu before going in. The whole interior is warm and homey. The framed pictures and lighting on the walls give it the feel of a classic Western-style diner (gyeongyangsik restaurant).

Mother-of-pearl tables and window seats
The mother-of-pearl (jagae) tabletops on every table are really striking, aren't they? Full of the retro vibe that's trendy right now, so it's a lovely spot for photos. It's cozy enough to work as a date spot too.

One side of the restaurant has big windows, so you can eat without feeling cramped. Sit by the window with the soft sunlight coming in and it feels just like a relaxed weekend lunch. I also spotted baby chairs for families.

This is the water bottle they bring when you sit down. Doesn't it look like the Delmonte glass bottles we had at home as kids? Little details like this bring back memories, which makes me like the place even more. I picked my order while sipping cold barley tea.
What is on the menu at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch, and how much?

Open the menu and the event info comes first. If you post on Instagram or leave a Naver receipt review, you get a free drink or ade. It'd be a shame to miss a perk like that, so do join in and grab it.

Side dishes with a tteokbokki refill
The side menu is really solid too. From tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and fried items to kimchi fried rice, it's perfect for sharing with a group. Especially, the tteokbokki can be refilled once! I thought the value was excellent.

Pork cutlets, fried rice and pasta
There's quite a variety of donkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) too. From loin to cheese to spicy cutlet, choosing to your taste looks like fun. They also have fried rice, so even with kids you won't have to worry about the menu.

The pasta lineup is as strong as the hambak. Tomato, cream, Toowoomba and rosé are all there, and prices are in the low ₩10,000s, so it's not a burden. I wanted something mellow this time, so I ordered a rosé pasta.

Double-patty hamburg steak
On the main hamburg steak page, I saw a double-size option with two patties. I'd totally recommend this for big eaters or anyone who wants lots of meat. We picked it too, to eat our fill.
What's on the self-serve bar at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch?

The self-serve bar has kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), pickles and jalapeños neatly laid out, so you can take as much as you like. I headed straight there after ordering. Hamburg steak can get rich and heavy, and that's exactly when a piece of kkakdugi hits the spot.

Set on the mother-of-pearl table, the bowls make a nice color contrast and the food looks even tastier. The pickles were crunchy and fresh, and the kkakdugi was nicely fermented, so I kept reaching for it before the mains even arrived.

Grapefruit ade and blue lemon ade
I wanted ades, so I ordered grapefruit and blue lemon. The colors are so vivid and pretty, aren't they? Super refreshing, and they cleanse the palate. The portions were generous too, so I had plenty of cold drink until the end of the meal.
How did the double-patty hamburg steak and rosé pasta taste?

The double hambak comes with two thick patties stacked up, topped with a soft-yolk fried egg. The mains I'd been waiting for finally arrived, and the look is overwhelming, right? I felt full just looking at it.

I keep coming back to Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch, and I was very satisfied again. No gamey smell at all, the juices burst out, and it goes wonderfully with the special sauce. The rosé pasta had a rich sauce too, and I scraped the plate clean.
Good prices, hearty portions, and I always leave patting my full belly happily! If you're looking for a filling, tasty meal in Baegot, do stop by Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch.
