I was near Songdo Triple Street when the smell of good bread pulled me to Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리), with its charming red-brick exterior. It carries the title "Master Baker's House of Korea," so you feel the trust from the entrance.

I got so absorbed looking at the different breads one by one that I lost track of time. Let me tell you about the atmosphere and the items I'd recommend, based on my visit.
What is the atmosphere like at Tomoru Bakery?

The shop is a cozy space with breads neatly laid out on wood-toned shelves under warm lighting. It isn't huge, but the space is used well, so moving around to pick bread felt comfortable.

Drink menu and prices
There's a drink menu on one side, and an Americano is ₩3,500, a pretty reasonable price. Besides coffee, they have ades, teas, and even milk packs for kids, which I liked. It's perfect for picking a light drink to go with your bread.
What breads does Tomoru Bakery have?

The variety is huge: salt bread, fresh doughnuts, pastry twisted doughnuts (kkwabaegi), baked sweets, savory prepared breads, campagne, and rice breads. The salt bread, popular everywhere these days, was baked up looking very appetizing, true to its best-seller status. There were also lots of sweet, nostalgic-tasting things like fresh doughnuts and pastry twists.

If you love baked sweets, you'll have a hard time walking past the financiers and cookies. The red bean bread was neatly packaged, and savory breads like the pastry pizza bread looked amazing.

If you prefer something healthier, I'd suggest looking at the campagne and garlic bread lines. The garlic bread is sold both singly and in bundles, so you can pick as much as you want.

Refrigerated corner: sandwiches and cream mammoth
Turn to the refrigerated corner and you'll find sandwiches that work as a meal and big cream mammoth bread (a large cream-filled roll). Soft desserts like cream puff bread and rice rolls were also kept fresh.

Kkamang-i, Bak Ssalppang and 100% rice flour bread
Best sellers with Tomoru's own character, like "Kkamang-i" and "Bak Ssalppang" (gourd rice bread), caught my eye. There's also bread made with 100% rice flour, so people who have trouble digesting wheat have more choices, which is a plus.
What anniversary cakes are there?

The cake showcase had Mango Sand, fresh cream rolls, Shine Sand, and strawberry cake. The Mango Sand, piled with mango and layered with fruit, was overwhelming just to look at. The fresh cream roll looked so fluffy that it would make a nice gift, too.

There's also the Shine Sand cake, loaded with Shine Muscat grapes, available from mini size up to size No. 1. The strawberry cake's fresh cream looked so clean that it can't possibly taste bad. Reserve one ahead for a special day and you'll get credit for being thoughtful~
How did the items I picked taste?

I picked a salt bread, pizza bread, baguette, and sandwich, and my tray got heavy fast. You could see with your own eyes that they hadn't skimped on ingredients, and I couldn't wait to try them.

Choco baguette
I asked them to slice the choco baguette for easy eating, and it's studded with chocolate chips inside. It's crisp outside and chewy inside, and the chocolate you bite into here and there gives a pleasant sweetness.

Ciabatta sandwich
In the cross-section of the ciabatta sandwich, lettuce, tomato, and ham were packed in tight. The sauce and vegetables go well together, so every bite tastes crunchy and fresh.

Pastry pizza bread
I took the pastry pizza bread home, and warming it up a little made the flavor come alive. Overall the breads stick to the basics with generous toppings, so it was a satisfying tasting.
Is Tomoru Bakery worth recommending?
I think the biggest charm of Tomoru Bakery is being able to find so many kinds of bread in one place. From meal-replacement sandwiches to sweet desserts and cakes, everyone can pick to their taste, whoever you go with. If you're looking for a high-quality bakery in Songdo, I'd say definitely stop by Tomoru Bakery.
