Gongju family-trip lunch with baby tableware: Bapkkot Hana Pieotne
In short
Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is a hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurant on Sinwonsa-ro in Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju, near Gyeryongsan Mountain. Stopping by on a Gongju trip with a young child, the writer ordered one portion each of cheonnyeoncho tteokgalbi (prickly pear grilled short rib patty) and charcoal-grilled stir-fried pork, and the staff brought out a separate baby dish set, so the child happily worked through the fritters, savory pancakes and tteokgalbi. With mild seasoning and generous portions, Bapkkot Hana Pieotne makes an easy lunch stop for children and adults together.

Hi, this is influencer Manimi. I recently went on a trip to Gongju with my child. A must on any trip is a good restaurant tour, and I heard about a place serving healthy Korean set meals made with fresh ingredients, so I stopped by — and it did not disappoint. Here's my detailed review of Bapkkot Hana Pieotne (밥꽃하나피었네), a Gongju hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) restaurant where even my kid ate well.

Where is Bapkkot Hana Pieotne? Near Gyeryongsan in Gongju

This Gongju hanjeongsik spot is located near Gyeryongsan, making it a great stop after a hike or as part of a scenic drive.
Parking: two dedicated lots in front

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne has two dedicated parking lots right in front, so there was no worry about parking. True to its reputation, the lot was already full even before lunchtime.
Opening hours and closing day

This restaurant is closed every Monday. On other days it's open from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM, with a break time from 3 to 5 PM on weekdays only.
Can you get a table without a reservation?

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is already a well-known local favorite, and it was so packed that eating without a reservation looked nearly impossible. If you're planning to visit, I definitely recommend booking ahead — it's a genuinely popular spot that's appeared on several TV shows.
Private rooms that suit family gatherings

The interior felt cozy, and there were private rooms, making it comfortable for group gatherings or family meals. On the day I visited, it was completely full with reservation guests — most of them families.
The menu: tteokgalbi and charcoal-grilled pork stir-fry, single portions welcome

There were three main menu items here — tteokgalbi and spicy pork stir-fry — which were perfect for my kid to eat too. We ordered the cheonnyeoncho tteokgalbi with the spicy pork stir-fry. It was even better that you could order single portions.
Even the side dishes are lightly seasoned

As soon as we ordered, the basic side dishes were set right away. Even the dishware itself was neat and tidy, which I really liked.

The basic side dishes had a level of quality and variety that stood out. Made with fresh seasonal ingredients, the seasoning wasn't too strong, and everything felt clean.
Most of the side dishes weren't overpowering, which made them great for kids too, and eating them felt light on the stomach — I immediately understood why this place is so popular. The portions were generous and varied enough to fill you up on the side dishes alone.
Why kids eat well here: a baby dish set and mild seasoning

From fritters to buckwheat noodles to tteokgalbi, there were so many dishes my child could eat. They even prepared a baby dish set, and the mild seasoning was perfect for kids. My child ate through fritters, savory pancakes, and tteokgalbi without a pause.
The mains: cheonnyeoncho tteokgalbi and charcoal-grilled pork stir-fry

Shortly after, the main dishes arrived. The charcoal-grilled pork was generous, and the tteokgalbi was large, making for a hearty portion.

On top of that, gangdoenjang (thick soybean paste dip) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) were added, making the table even fuller.

The spicy pork stir-fry had a generous portion and no gamey smell — clean and well-balanced. It wasn't spicy at all and had a nice savory depth, genuinely delicious.
It was the ultimate rice thief. My husband said it was even better mixed with rice, so he mixed it in with the various side dishes and also wrapped bites in the gangdoenjang.
The tteokgalbi was handmade too, so it was soft with a subtle sweetness — delicious. My kid said it was tasty and ate it happily with rice. There were vegetables inside too, which gave it good texture.

From the seasoned vegetable side dishes to the doenjang jjigae, it tasted just like grandma used to make in the countryside, and the pancakes and fritters were crispy and tasty too. It was the kind of Korean home-style flavor that anyone could enjoy.
In this era of high prices, Bapkkot Hana Pieotne felt like great value — a table piled high with fresh, tidy side dishes, and even better that my kid could eat along with us.

Why Bapkkot Hana Pieotne works as a Gongju trip lunch stop
As a well-known Korean restaurant, Bapkkot Hana Pieotne had a wide variety of side dishes with perfect flavor. Portions were generous and everything was neat and tidy — great for eating with kids, and just as good for adults. I recommend Bapkkot Hana Pieotne, a Gongju hanjeongsik restaurant.
