Suam Market, Ulsan buffet with square dry rice paper wraps: Shabre

Hi everyone. These days more and more shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat spots are popping up in Ulsan. I personally love shabu-shabu, so whenever a new place opens I get curious and end up checking it out haha. This time I visited Shabre Garden, a newly opened spot near Suam Market in Yaeum-dong, Ulsan.

I thought only the meat was unlimited, but it turned out shabu-shabu, rice paper wraps, sushi, pizza, fried food, dessert, and even draft beer were all unlimited...? By the time I finished trying everything I was literally stuffed to bursting lol. The self-bar had so much variety and the space was wide and comfortable, so it seemed great for a family outing too. Here's my honest review of Shabre Garden :)

Where is Shabre Garden, and how does Suam Market parking work?

Shabre Garden is located near Suam Market in Nam-gu, Ulsan's Yaeum-dong. It's on the 2nd floor of the newly built Medical Tower, so the building was easy to find.

If you're driving, you can get 2 hours of free parking at the unpaved lot in front of the seafood center building or the parking tower currently under construction, and if you use the Suam Market public parking lot, they'll cover ₩1,000. Parking around Suam Market can be a hassle, so having this support made things a bit easier.

What is the dining room at Shabre Garden like?

Here's the inside of Shabre Garden. There are quite a lot of tables and the overall space is used generously, so it doesn't feel cramped even when busy. Tables aren't just packed together randomly either — partitions divide the space into sections, making it easier to eat comfortably. Since the restaurant is spacious, it seemed like a good option for visiting with kids or taking parents out for a family meal.

The shabu-shabu vegetable bar and what it holds

Once your order is placed, the shabu-shabu broth gets set up and then it's time to raid the self-bar haha. Personally I think vegetables matter just as much as meat in shabu-shabu, and here they had bean sprouts, napa cabbage, bok choy, water dropwort, green onion, and a variety of mushrooms — plenty to pick and choose from.

Beyond the basic vegetables for the pot, there was a wide range of add-ins too — shrimp, sausage, dumplings, fish cake, rice cake strips, glass noodles, corn noodles, and dumpling soup dough — so you could keep making the same pot taste different! There were also separate ingredients for rice paper wraps: carrots, perilla leaves, cabbage, cucumber, sprouts, pineapple, and more. Usually round rice paper is what comes to mind, but here they also had square dry rice paper.

There were several types of sauces too — peanut sauce, chili sauce, garlic sauce, soy dipping sauce — so even the same meat tasted different each time depending on the sauce, and I never got tired of it!

How much sushi does a shabu-shabu buffet really have?

One thing that really caught my eye at Shabre Garden was the sushi corner. Usually at shabu-shabu buffets, the meat and pot ingredients are the main event and everything else is just there for show. But here, the sushi selection alone was surprisingly varied.

So I loved being able to enjoy sushi along with the shabu-shabu. For families torn between an Ulsan sushi buffet and a shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat, this place solves both at once haha. When you're dining with a group and everyone wants something different, a buffet like this is so convenient.

Unlimited meat plates, of course

At Shabre Garden, the shabu-shabu meat is unlimited as well. The meat is kept in a separate fridge, and you can grab two types depending on your preference. My tip: don't grab a huge pile all at once — just bring what you'll eat and cook it right away! Personally, I thought the beef was tastier :)

And it doesn't stop at sushi. There are two kinds of pizza, plus fried items like cheese sticks and fried chicken.

There's also a good variety of tteokbokki, meat dishes, dumplings, and salads, perfect for snacking on between rounds of shabu-shabu. If you go in expecting only shabu-shabu, you might be surprised by just how much else there is.

The dessert bar deserves its own stomach

There's chocolate fondue and soft-serve ice cream that kids will love. Waffles are on offer too, and you don't have to make them yourself — you can just grab one ready-made, which was convenient. On top of that, there's bingsu (shaved ice) toppings, soft drinks, a coffee machine, and various other beverages!

Draft beer on free refill too

And here's the best part — draft beer is included in the all-you-can-eat too. Some buffets charge extra for draft beer, but at Shabre Garden it's included in the meal price, so you can drink without any extra charge.

Everyone loaded up their plates however they liked. The quality was better than I expected... I genuinely love sushi, and this place's sushi is legit!! The salmon sushi in particular was amazing.

I'm not exaggerating — I think I ate about 10 pieces of salmon sushi alone lol.

Half regular broth, half jjamppong broth

You can order the broth half-and-half, so we went with regular and jjamppong broth together, alternating between the two so it never got boring.

There was so much food and so much variety that we only made it through 3 plates of meat — a sad fact...

This was my first time trying square dry rice paper, and I honestly liked it way more! It had that banh xeo kind of vibe — totally my taste.

Finishing the meal with fried rice

We wrapped up completely stuffed with fried rice :) Shabre Garden in Yaeum-dong, Ulsan was a satisfying spot where you could enjoy so many different menus at once! From shabu-shabu meat and fresh vegetables to rice paper wraps, sushi, pizza, fried food, and dessert, the self-bar lineup was seriously varied.

On top of all that, draft beer is unlimited too, so it's the perfect place to eat and drink your fill haha. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, making it a great choice for a family outing too. If you're looking for an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu or sushi buffet in Ulsan, I'd recommend Shabre Garden :)
