Seoulsup pasta brunch worth the ₩15,000 deposit: Billadeubeulleu
In short
Billadeubeulleu Seongsu (빌라드블루 성수) is a Western restaurant focused on pasta, lasagna and gnocchi on Seoulsup 2-gil, near Seoulsup in Seongdong, Seoul. The writer booked an 11am table through Naver Reservation with a ₩15,000 per-person deposit, took a walk around Seoulsup with a friend, then shared the aligot cheese lasagna (₩22,000), gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi (₩21,000) and house salad (₩12,000). If you're looking for a brunch spot near Seoulsup on a nice day, I'd recommend Billadeubeulleu Seongsu (빌라드블루 성수), a place with real atmosphere too.
Where is Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, and does it pair well with a Seoulsup walk?

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is close to Seoulsup, so you can walk before or after your meal and make a whole date course out of it. I booked 11am, met my friend a bit early, did a loop around Seoulsup and then headed to the restaurant. It was perfect.

In front of the shop there was a picture of the cheese lasagna, Billadeubeulleu's signature dish. I'd actually come with other dishes in mind, but seeing the photo suddenly made me want it.

How do the booking deposit and waiting work at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu?
Booking through Naver Reservation requires a ₩15,000 per-person deposit. Cancelling one day before gets 50% back, and cancelling on the day gets no refund. Walk-ins are possible too, but when it's full you can join the waitlist on Catch Table.
It's famous as a Seoulsup brunch place, so the tables filled up right as it opened, and most people had booked ahead. I reserved through Naver two days earlier. Even with a system like that, there are plenty of customers, and there turns out to be a reason for it.
Billadeubeulleu Seongsu interior and terrace seats

The inside is built around white and blue for a cool, airy feel, and the wooden tables and green plants add a bit of a southern European resort vibe. It had more personality than a simply pretty café.
There's indoor seating, but on a nice day like in spring or fall, I'd definitely aim for the terrace first! It's great for chatting over brunch, and the mood was relaxed enough for a date or a get-together with friends.
Billadeubeulleu Seongsu menu and the three dishes we ordered

The menu runs from pasta to lasagna, gnocchi, steak and salad, with options that suit brunch or lunch as well as dinner. We ordered these three!
- Aligot cheese lasagna ₩22,000
- Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi ₩21,000
- House salad ₩12,000
House salad with a big scoop of ricotta

The first thing out was the house salad (₩12,000). It isn't just a heap of greens: a big scoop of ricotta sits in the middle, so it has more presence than I expected.

Dab the fresh, crunchy greens in the soft ricotta and a milky richness comes in among the leafy flavor, making everything go down smoother. The fresh sweetness of the cherry tomatoes and the nutty crunch dotted through it made it a great starter before the cream gnocchi and cheese lasagna.
Aligot cheese lasagna: a must if you love cheese
The aligot cheese lasagna (₩22,000) is one of Billadeubeulleu's signature dishes. You get excited just from the photo, and in person it's even more powerful, haha.

The lasagna comes covered in cheese like a blanket. It doesn't feel merely thick and heavy; the cheese is soft and stretchy, and it went really well with the rich tomato ragù underneath.

The tangy tomato sauce resets the cheese's richness, so the combination worked nicely. If you like cheese, the aligot cheese lasagna is something you should try at Billadeubeulleu at least once.

Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi: flavor and texture
In the gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi (₩21,000), the heavy aroma of truffle rises subtly from behind, and the cream ties everything together softly, so the three flavors blended more naturally than I expected.

The gnocchi is the lightly golden outside, soft and fluffy inside type. Scoop up plenty of the cream sauce with a spoon and eat it with a piece of gnocchi, and the thick cream soaks into the gnocchi as it goes from chewy to fluffy. With the grated cheese on top, each bite is very rich, but there were crunchy toppings here and there, so the texture never got monotonous, which I liked.
Who is Billadeubeulleu Seongsu for?
