Exterior of Gijang Myeongpum Daegae

I went to Gijang Myeongpum Daegae today. It's close to Gijang, so it's great for travelers to visit, and the location is really good too. And most of all, the owner is genuinely kind. Lots of Chinese visitors and other tourists come here too, so I think you can trust it and drop by! So here's my honest review of this Gijang restaurant, Gijang snow crab spot, Gijang king crab spot, Gijang Myeongpum Daegae.

Inside the tanks at Gijang Myeongpum Daegae: how the snow crab and king crab look

The tank at Gijang Myeongpum Daegae holds both snow crab and king crab together, and the king crab size is massive. They weigh the basket empty first, so you don't need to worry about being shorted on weight.

Gijang snow crab, Gijang snow crab restaurant, you can see how good the yield looks... The king crab is genuinely huge, the size is massive. I feel like three adult faces could fit in one! And the owner explains everything really well and weighs the basket empty first, so you don't have to worry about being cheated. Even when they weigh the basket along with the crab they told us it came out to more anyway, haha. The owner is super easygoing and seems trustworthy, so you don't need to worry about that. Even a few extra grams can swing the price a lot, so this stuff matters, right.

Picking up the takeout order: free abalone and drinks

At Gijang Myeongpum Daegae I paid ₩81,000 for 1kg of snow crab via Naver Pay and picked it up right away. When I opened the takeout box, there was even abalone and a drink thrown in as service.

We ordered 1kg and paid ₩81,000 via Naver Pay. It was great that everything was prepared in advance so conveniently. Picking it up right away and going was so nice. The owner was kind too, and even though we were flustered not knowing what to order, they explained everything, so it felt really trustworthy — and with so many Chinese and other foreign visitors coming here too, that adds to the trust.

Opened takeout box with snow crab and abalone

Opening it up, there was abalone too, and a drink as service too, haha. There were plump claws as well, and it was so sweet and delicious. I think if you're staying nearby at a pension or something like that, instead of ordering fried chicken, ordering about 1kg and pairing it simply with a drink would be great too. The body meat was really substantial too, so as a family of three we ate really well as a late-night meal, haha.
