Korean pub in Ilgwang, Busan with crab eobok jaengban: 13 Wol

I had a meal and a few drinks at Hansik Jujeom 13 Wol Ilgwang Main Branch (한식주점 13월 일광본점), famous as a Gijang bar and an Ilgwang Korean pub, haha. They have several kinds of non-alcoholic drinks too, which I loved!

Hansik Jujeom 13 Wol Ilgwang Main Branch is at 65-8 Haebit 6-ro, Unit 101, Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan (lot number: 844-11 Samseong-ri, Ilgwang-eup). It is open 17:00 to 24:00 Monday to Thursday, and 17:00 to 01:00 the next day on Friday and Saturday.

What are the outside and inside like?

The 13 Wol sign catches your eye right from the outside, so it's easy to find. It's a nice spot for a drink in the Haeundae–Ilgwang direction, haha. The look is clean and it wasn't hard to find at all!

There's a separate menu board outside, so you can check the menu and prices before going in, lol. It's a bar but the food menu is varied, so you can pick what to eat before you even enter!!

Inside, the mood was warm and clean, haha. Wood tones and soft lighting make it comfortable, and with several tables it looks fine for drinks with friends or a group get-together. It was busy, so I couldn't take photos of the whole interior, but there are about 6 tables in total!

One side has a fridge stocked with various drinks, and the tables aren't cramped, so you can sit back and relax. It felt less like a loud bar and more like a Korean pub where you sit comfortably with tasty food and a drink, lol 🩷

Review events at Hansik Jujeom 13 Wol Ilgwang Main Branch

When I visited, they were running review events that depend on the time of day!!! The perks differ before and after 20:00, and you can't combine the two events ⛔️

• Review before 20:00: choose one of brown cheese tomato or one draft beer (tell the staff beforehand and write a review with a food photo)
• Review after 20:00: a free bottle of soju or beer 🍺 (search 'Hansik Jujeom 13 Wol' on Naver → agree to notifications → get the coupon and use it → have staff check the coupon → write a review with a food photo)
• The before-20:00 and after-20:00 events can't be combined

The menu: does it work for both a meal and drinks?

There are lots of Korean dishes, so it works as a meal and as a bar. True to a Gijang-gun Korean pub in Ilgwang, there's really a lot of Korean food, haha. The side-dish prices aren't high either, so it's easy to order several, haha. They have traditional liquor, draft beer and non-alcoholic beer, which I loved!!!

What we ordered that day: beef shank and crab eobok jeongban (a hot pot of meat and seafood) with ramen noodles, grilled pollock roe with mayo, and 2 non-alcoholic Tsingtao. One-line review: spicy eobok jeongban!!!! The broth cures a hangover!

That kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) is great eaten with the noodles you add to the eobok jeongban, haha.

How did the beef shank and crab eobok jeongban taste?

The beef shank and crab eobok jeongban is a spicy broth dish with crab, beef, assorted mushrooms, tofu, napa cabbage, bean sprouts and more. Here comes the eobok jeongban!! They also gave us a dipping sauce and a burner for boiling it at the table.

There's a lot of meat, it's good dipped in the sauce, and the broth itself is spicy and seasoned enough to eat as is, lol. The broth is really spicy and refreshing, and it feels like it cures your drinking hangover. A clear broth that tastes of both seafood stew and rich meat soup!

The grilled pollock roe with mayo (myeongran gui mayo) at Hansik Jujeom 13 Wol Ilgwang Main Branch had roe that was plump through and through!! It's a drinking snack where you eat cucumber, roe and mayonnaise together.

How does the ramen noodle add-on for the eobok jeongban come out?

If you order the ramen noodle add-on at Hansik Jujeom 13 Wol Ilgwang Main Branch, they boil it beforehand and bring it out, so it doesn't make the eobok jeongban broth cloudy. I ordered 1 portion of ramen noodles, haha. Noodles in the broth are so good.
