Why I headed to Seomyeon Milmyeon after a run
After a 2.8km run and sweating buckets, I was craving milmyeon with mandu (dumplings), so I went to Seomyeon Milmyeon (서면밀면) near Seomyeon Station. I run regularly, you know! But after not running for a while, it was seriously hot.. The weather lately is so humid and hot, ugh
It was only 2.8km and I almost passed out, ugh T_T After sweating that much, I suddenly wanted milmyeon and mandu so badly! Milmyeon plus mandu is the summer golden rule, right?! So today I went to Seomyeon Milmyeon, a famous Seomyeon restaurant.

Seomyeon Milmyeon location, hours and parking
Seomyeon Milmyeon is at 25 Seojeon-ro, Busanjin-gu, Busan, in EOS Plaza, about a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 8. It is open daily 10:30–21:30, with last order at 21:00.
You can park in the EOS parking lot (30 minutes). Dedicated parking support is offered too, so parking was free for us.

The moment I saw the exterior, it gave off an old-school famous-restaurant vibe. Places like this somehow feel more trustworthy, it's not just me, right? haha Parking is available, so driving here seemed no problem!
How do you order at Seomyeon Milmyeon?
At Seomyeon Milmyeon you order first at a kiosk outside, then go in. If it's full, you order and wait, and they call you in order.

But I understood right away why they do it this way haha I sat down, took one sip of the warm broth... and the food really did come out right then. (Slight exaggeration, but it was like 5 seconds, honestly!) I mean, come on, isn't that way too fast? hahaha It seems possible because the turnover is so good.
And the broth! I was hot from running, but one mouthful of the steaming broth loosened up my whole body. Ahh, so good.
Seomyeon Milmyeon menu and prices
The Seomyeon Milmyeon menu has just 4 items. Mul-milmyeon and bibim-milmyeon are ₩10,000 each, and mandu is ₩7,500. I trust places like this more haha
- Mul-milmyeon (cold broth noodles) ₩10,000
- Bibim-milmyeon (spicy mixed noodles) ₩10,000 (large portion +₩1,000)
- Mandu (dumplings) ₩7,500
- Extra noodles ₩3,000
Water is self-serve! We ordered one mul-milmyeon, one bibim-milmyeon and mandu!

How do the mul-milmyeon and bibim-milmyeon taste, and how spicy?
Both the mul-milmyeon and bibim-milmyeon at Seomyeon Milmyeon looked and tasted great, and the bibim's spice level was about Paldo Bibimmyeon (a Korean instant spicy noodle) to me. I was sipping the broth... and the food showed up hahaha My partner and I both went, "Huh?? Already?"

The look alone was great, and I liked the taste of both! I really enjoyed the bibim-milmyeon, but my partner can't normally handle spicy food, so after one bite they said, "I can't eat this...🥲" hahaha
To me it wasn't spicy at all, though. About Paldo Bibimmyeon level? Just slightly spicy, so I ate it happily!! If you can't handle spice at all, think twice about the bibim-milmyeon.
Are the portions big at Seomyeon Milmyeon?
The portions at Seomyeon Milmyeon are really big, and I left food even though I was hungry after my run. Maybe because I'd just run, my first thought was, "Isn't this a bit small?"
... Sorry. I left some hahahahaha Ugh, my pride is hurt!! Argh! The portions really are big. Even my partner said at home, "I'm still full..." hahaha If you leave food even after a run, then yes, I admit the portions are big.

What does the mandu at Seomyeon Milmyeon taste like?
The mandu at Seomyeon Milmyeon (₩7,500) felt like potato-wrapper dumplings. The wrappers were super chewy and the texture was so good. Eaten with milmyeon, the combo was the best! In summer, milmyeon with mandu really is the golden rule haha
Seomyeon Milmyeon interior and seating
The inside of Seomyeon Milmyeon had quite a lot of seats. It was so crowded that I couldn't take many interior photos, but seeing customers keep coming in, I thought, a top Busan milmyeon restaurant really is different.

Is 30 minutes of parking support enough?
Parking support at Seomyeon Milmyeon is 30 minutes, and we were out in under 20 haha

The food comes out fast and tables turn over fast, so 30 minutes seems enough. The self-serve bar also has water, danmuji (pickled radish) and braised radish, so take as much as you need.

How to eat Seomyeon Milmyeon well: don't cut the noodles
According to the "How to enjoy milmyeon" sign on the wall at Seomyeon Milmyeon, you should never cut the noodles with scissors, and you shouldn't drink too much water before eating. I saw it on my way out... and it was already too late hahaha

I snipped them out of habit, like with naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles)... but the noodles are so soft and easy to chew even uncut T_T I cut them for nothing... And apparently you shouldn't drink too much water beforehand either! You fill up on water before you even get to the broth haha Don't make my mistakes, and enjoy your meal haha
Seomyeon Milmyeon overall review
- Food arrives unbelievably fast
- Tasty milmyeon and chewy mandu
- Portions are far bigger than expected
- Parking is available, so it's convenient
- A great spot for a cool, refreshing summer meal
Maybe it tasted even better because I ate after running. It felt like finding a proper Busan milmyeon restaurant after a long time! If you're looking for a good restaurant in Seomyeon or near Seomyeon Station, I recommend trying Seomyeon Milmyeon. I'll probably come back this summer. Ah, I really like this place haha 🍜
