Why we picked Leju near Yeonsinnae Station for a weekend outing
Leju (레주) is a roastery café near Yeonsinnae Station with a reputation for desserts. My wife and I booked ahead and visited on a weekend. We wanted a quiet, cozy space for some sweet healing.
We both love cats, so when we heard about a roastery café with adorable cats to greet us, we headed over without a second thought.
How to find Leju: a beige sign on the ground floor of a red brick building
Leju sits on the ground floor of a red brick building on a quiet, homey side street near Yeonsinnae Station. Walk along the alley and a neat, beige-toned sign catches your eye right away.

Out front, a black standing sign with a cute orange candle logo announces coffee, desserts and the kittens. It is charmingly done, and even on a first visit we found the place without getting lost.

Warm-toned light glowed through the big windows, so we could feel the cozy mood before we even stepped inside.
What Leju's interior and roasting equipment are like
Inside, Leju is decorated with wooden shelving and calm lighting, and it felt really stylish and snug. Neatly designed coffee bean packages were lined up on the wooden shelves, and the gentle scent of coffee drifting under the soft lights melted away any tension.

In the kitchen area at the back, a professional roaster and a classic manual lever espresso machine stand proudly, and we could tell right away how serious Leju is about everything from roasting beans to extracting the shot.
Are Leju's three cats really that fond of people?
The moment we walked into Leju, three cats welcomed us and completely stole our attention. They love people so much that, with no shyness at all, they came up with tails swaying and rubbed against us. They greeted us far more enthusiastically than my sister-in-law's cat, whom we have known for years, and my wife and I burst out laughing in amazement.

Just making eye contact and bonding with these sweet, gentle cats wiped out a whole week of fatigue and stress. It was the best kind of healing time.

What we ordered at Leju: iced americano, two gelatos, classic tiramisu
At Leju we ordered a good spread of the signature menu: a cool, deeply flavored iced americano, two chewy gelato flavors served like flowers in a white coffee cup, and a classic handmade tiramisu in a cup.

Soon our order arrived beautifully arranged on a tidy wooden tray.

How does Leju's iced americano taste?
Leju's iced americano came in a vintage stainless steel mug, with standout fruity notes and a nutty body. I took a sip, and

from the very first sip, the clean, bright fruitiness and the rich, nutty body filling my mouth were simply art. As you would expect from a specialty coffee shop, the balance was perfect, with no harshness and a very smooth finish.

Eating the pistachio gelato like an affogato
Leju's gelato arrives piled up creamy white on a white cup, a look worthy of a Yeonsinnae gelato hotspot. The moment I scooped it with a spoon, it was chewy yet melted away in my mouth, with an incredible density.
The fragrant pistachio gelato in particular we enjoyed affogato style, pouring the strong espresso shot that came with it over the gelato. The bitter, hot espresso and the cold, sweet gelato blended wonderfully, and a luxurious flavor filled my mouth.
There was no artificial sweetness, just the deep nutty richness of the ingredients themselves, and my wife kept exclaiming with delight at every bite.
How was Leju's classic handmade tiramisu?
Leju's classic tiramisu came in a round kraft container, generously covered with Valrhona cocoa powder. I dug in deep with a spoon, and the espresso-soaked sponge and thick, creamy mascarpone melted in my mouth as softly as cotton candy.
The bittersweet balance was perfect, a fantastic taste that fully earns its title as a Yeonsinnae tiramisu hotspot. A bite of the rich handmade tiramisu followed by the clean specialty americano made a truly perfect pairing.

Our overall verdict on Leju in Yeonsinnae

Leju gave us a truly restful time, with everything coming together perfectly: warm bonding with lovable, gentle cats, the deep flavor of high-quality specialty coffee, and carefully made gelato and tiramisu.

If you want to unwind near Yeonsinnae in a quiet, atmospheric spot with reliably good desserts and fragrant coffee, I strongly recommend Leju, a dessert café by Yeonsinnae Station and a standout for gelato in Yeonsinnae.
