What kind of Western restaurant is Brivit in Gangnam?
Brivit Gangnam Station (브리비트) is a small, pretty Western restaurant tucked into an alley between Sinnonhyeon Station and Gangnam Station. I found it while looking around Gangnam Station for a Western place with some atmosphere, rather than a crowded franchise. It feels like a little garden restaurant you stumble upon while traveling in Europe, so let me introduce it to you.

Does Brivit Gangnam Station have a break time?
No. Brivit Gangnam Station stays open straight through, on weekdays and weekends alike. Around Gangnam Station, an afternoon break time often makes visiting awkward, so this is a big plus. I could relax and enjoy my meal without watching the clock, and I was really happy with that.

Atmosphere and seating
The restaurant feels cozier than I expected, thanks to lighting with a yellowish tint. The light isn't white but slightly yellow, and the moment I walked in I felt like I'd entered a snug space.

Seating is mostly 2-person and 4-person tables, and there are window seats too, so it felt fine for dining solo~

In the daytime it would be great for brunch in a sunny garden mood, but I also thought it would be so romantic to come in the evening and have pasta with a glass of wine under the soft lighting. Day and night seem like completely different charms, so next time I really want to visit around sunset.

Call the staff with a pink ribbon bell
Here's something unusual: to call staff at Brivit Gangnam Station, you jingle the pink ribbon bell on your table. In this age of ordering on digital tablets, it was refreshing to find this analog touch, and it suits the restaurant's mood so well. So cute!
What's on Brivit's menu?

According to the menu, you can get an ade if you do a review event. There are also sets, called the Bri Set and the Beet Set.

The mains are mostly pasta and risotto. Definitely a proper Western pasta place in Gangnam Station! Sides include yogurt salad, pudding, fried eggplant and soup. They also have highballs, ades and cola, haha.
Salmon steak pasta: how is it with added salmon?
We tried two dishes: the salmon steak pasta and the scallion cream corn gnocchi.

When the dishes arrived, I could feel the care in the plating right away.

Brivit's salmon steak pasta comes with a big piece of salmon, crisp-seared on the outside, on top of a spicy tomato ragù pasta.

I added the salmon steak!

You flake the salmon apart and eat it with the noodles that have soaked up the sauce. The gentle spiciness calms down the salmon's characteristic heaviness. The soft salmon and the spicy sauce were well balanced, so I couldn't stop reaching for more.

How is the scallion cream corn gnocchi?
Brivit's scallion cream corn gnocchi is said to be handmade from dough kneaded in-house, and this dish that followed was a real treat too. One bite and the texture was spot on: golden outside, chewy like rice cake inside.

The cream sauce carried the sweet, fragrant aroma of scallion, and the corn kernels popping here and there added nuttiness.

The sauce wasn't heavy at all, just smooth, perfect for scooping up lots of gnocchi and cream with a spoon.

Service and waiting at Brivit Gangnam Station
Even at busy times, the staff at Brivit Gangnam Station quickly took care of requests and were friendly. Personally, I value staff kindness as much as the food when I eat out, and thanks to the warm service I finished my meal feeling well looked after.
Oh, and one more thing! There was no wait when I arrived, but during the meal the line grew to 3 groups. That's how popular it is..

When you need a cozy meal in Gangnam Station
Lately, eating around Gangnam Station has worn me out, with so many places either too noisy or feeling like they stamp out meals in a factory. At Brivit Gangnam Station I got to enjoy a cozy mood after a long time, jingle an analog bell and taste carefully made handmade dishes, so my heart felt full too. When I want to escape the busy city routine, feel an exotic kind of ease and get some delicious comfort, I'd love to come back here like it's my hideout. It's a precious space.
