Today I'm sharing my visit to Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch (뒷골목돗갈비 검단본점), a BBQ restaurant in Dangha-dong, Geomdan, Incheon.

What kind of BBQ restaurant is Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch?
Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 2 of Wanjeong Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport.
You can enjoy Jeju pork collar, Jeju-style pork noodle soup, spicy cold noodles, and even black pork sausage that kids love.

What caught my eye the moment I walked in was the aging showcase for the meat. Seeing the meat aging right there got me excited before the meal even began.

How to find Dwitgolmok from Wanjeong Station, and the atmosphere
The restaurant is about a 1-minute walk from Exit 2 of Wanjeong Station, behind Starbucks Incheon Danghadt branch. If you're looking for BBQ near Wanjeong Station, it's an easy spot to get to, so just use the surroundings as a guide.

The place is set up so you can see the meat aging, and with the aging cuts on display I was already thinking how good it would be before eating anything.

I'm told Dwitgolmok uses Jeju Montrak pork. Being able to see the aged meat with your own eyes felt a little different from an ordinary BBQ place.
What we ordered and the prices
- Jeju pork collar 160g: ₩16,000
- Spicy cold noodles (bibim naengmyeon): ₩6,000
- Jeju-style pork noodle soup: ₩6,000
- Jeju black pork sausage (4 pieces): ₩10,000
Jeju pork collar: thick cuts grilled for you by staff
First, the main dish: Jeju pork collar (160g, ₩16,000).

My first thought when the meat came out was, wow, that's thick. It was so thick that at first I wondered whether it would cook through. With thick cuts, how you grill them changes the texture and juiciness, so the grilling really matters, right?
Meat grilled by someone else tastes the best
But a staff member grills it for you, and their grilling skill was really good. They cooked the thick meat just right, so my worry about grilling vanished and I could relax and focus on eating. It's aged Jeju pork, which I was looking forward to, and even the smell rising while it grilled got my appetite going.

At a BBQ restaurant the meat itself matters, but satisfaction also depends on who grills it and how, doesn't it? At Dwitgolmok the staff grill the meat skillfully, so I could eat much more comfortably.
Jeju black pork sausage (4 pieces): the skewers the kids devoured
The dish the kids especially loved this time was the Jeju black pork sausage (4 pieces, ₩10,000).

The sausages were grilled and served like skewers. Maybe because it's such an easy shape for kids to eat, they really did eat it up.

When families go to a BBQ restaurant, the adults eat the meat but the kids often need something else that suits their taste. With a sausage on the menu like this, it was great for eating with children. Being able to order something kids like alongside the regular meal made it feel like a decent place for a family meal out.
Spicy cold noodles: a hot, tangy match for the meat
One thing you can't skip when eating BBQ is bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) (₩6,000). The spiciness of Dwitgolmok's version was excellent. Eating the spicy cold noodles between bites of meat woke up my appetite, and the combination with the meat was great.

At a BBQ restaurant, cold noodles are good alongside the meat or as a way to finish the meal. If you like spicy seasoning, I think they're worth ordering too.
Jeju-style pork noodle soup: the noodles had a unique texture
Lastly, we ordered the Jeju-style pork noodle soup (gogi guksu) (₩6,000). I was curious how Jeju-style pork noodle soup differs from ordinary noodles, and the noodles at Dwitgolmok felt a little unusual.
The texture was different from the noodles I'm used to, and looking closely they seemed like corn noodles. I couldn't confirm exactly what kind of noodle it was, but the texture, unlike the noodles I usually eat, left an impression.

Ordering a warm noodle dish on top of meat and cold noodles let us enjoy the meal with more variety. As the name suggests, if you want to experience a Jeju-style meal, it's worth a try.
Verdict: is Dwitgolmok Geomdan Main Branch worth returning to?
If you're looking for a place to taste Jeju pork in Dangha-dong, Geomdan, Incheon, Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch is worth a visit.

The most impressive part was the aging showcase at the entrance. Seeing the meat aging in person got me excited before the meal.

The Jeju pork collar was so thick that I worried at first whether it would cook through, but a staff member grilled it skillfully, so I could eat comfortably.

The Jeju black pork sausage the kids loved came prepared as skewers that were easy to eat, which made it good for family visits. On top of that, we got spicy cold noodles and Jeju-style pork noodle soup with its impressively unusual noodles, so there was a nice variety to order, from meat to meal dishes.
