How to get to Chef Cho Shinsegae Gangnam from Express Bus Terminal Station

Leave Express Bus Terminal Station by Exit 3, head toward Shinsegae Department Store, then take the escalator down to Sweet Park on B1, and the shop is right in front of you. It's a famous Gangnam cake spot, but Express Bus Terminal Station is always hard to navigate, isn't it.. haha

I took Line 3, went out Exit 3 and headed toward Shinsegae. Then I walked to the spot in the left photo, kept going straight, and took the escalator down, and it's right there! It was easier than I expected (?) haha

Chef Cho cakes were featured on the TV show Master of Living (생활의 달인) as one of the "four kings of cake." The chef reportedly has worked under the Chef Cho name for 23 years, and there are lots of other branches now haha. Shinsegae Gangnam is connected to the Honam-bound bus terminal, so it's perfect for picking up a cake on your way for holidays or birthdays.

What kinds of cakes does Chef Cho sell?

At Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam there was a huge variety: Peach Berry, Fig Pistachio, Real Mango, Dark Choco, Mango Cream, Apple Mango Strawberry Flower, Choco-rong Strawberry and more. Since very fresh, high-quality fruit goes on top of the fresh cream, the menu may vary a little with the season!

I went after work and there were quite a lot of people. That's how much of a hot spot and popular Gangnam cake place it is.

Chef Cho Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam has whole cakes but also slices, so it's easy to enjoy on a small anniversary, and the mini cakes made me even happier. For my next anniversary I'll try a mini cake as well as a whole one. It's also a great quality cake for your parents' birthdays, so make a note of it! haha

I heard Chef Cho cakes use only 100% dairy fresh cream and are made with fresh fruit sourced directly every morning. That quality doesn't come out of nowhere haha. And the fruit is piled on without holding back!

How much are cakes at Chef Cho Shinsegae Gangnam?

On average, mini cakes were ₩39,000–45,000 and No. 1 cakes were ₩54,000–58,000. Prices differ slightly from cake to cake.

I bought the Apple Mango Strawberry Flower Cake No. 1. It was ₩54,000, and I paid ₩3,000 extra for a cooler bag too!

Is the ₩3,000 cooler bag worth adding?

The Chef Cho cooler bag was worth the extra ₩3,000. Glad I got it~ haha. The trip home is long and treacherous (?), so I added it, and they packed it well and it has a handle, so it was easy to carry :)

How does the Apple Mango Strawberry Flower Cake taste?

The fresh fruit on Chef Cho's Apple Mango Strawberry Flower Cake isn't only on the outside, it's packed through the middle too, and the fresh cream is so, so good. Wow, the look is amazing, right?! The reaction on social media is great too haha.

From the front, side or top.. fruit spilling everywhere, and it's soft and pretty,, how can cream be this soft and not cloying? It's an apple mango strawberry flower cake, and even with no sugar added to the fruit it's really sweet and fresh.

My mango-lover husband praised it to the skies, said it was so, so good, and finished it in no time haha. Mango, strawberries,, it was so delicious that I understood how they pick only top-quality, fresh fruit each morning, and I kept marveling as I ate. The tender flesh and the fruit aroma that spreads.. T_T I want it again,,

The pretty design makes it feel like a gift, and the moment you open it there's a fresh fruity scent, wow,, you keep reaching for more haha. The mango is truly fresh, enough for a mango lover to approve. I don't love mango that much, but surprisingly it was delicious haha.
