Wanjeong Station Korean BBQ for two with public parking: Dwitgolmok
In short
Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch is a Jeju aged pork BBQ restaurant in the Wanjeong Station food alley in Dangha-dong, Geomdan-gu, Incheon. On a weekend evening, two friends parked in a nearby public car park and shared 2 servings of special pork collar (teukmoksal), 1 serving of Jeju ddotgalbi (pork ribs) and 1 bowl of rice, with staff grilling everything from start to finish. The thick special pork collar was the highlight, and because parking in front of Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi is limited, using a public car park from the start makes for an easy, relaxed aged-pork dinner.

A weekend evening with a friend at a Wanjeong Station food alley BBQ
On a weekend evening, a friend and I couldn't decide where to eat meat, so we ended up at Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi in the Wanjeong Station food alley :) Even while we ate, lots of regulars were greeting the staff like old friends, so it's clearly a hotspot in the Wanjeong Station food alley. If you're looking for a BBQ place in Dangha-dong, especially if you want properly good Jeju-style aged pork, I recommend the Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch.

Parking at Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi: is the public car park easier?
I'd heard in advance that parking at the Geomdan Main Branch isn't roomy, so we used a nearby public car park. If you want to eat without parking stress, park in the public car park beforehand.

What meat and sauces does Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi serve?
The Geomdan branch serves top-grade aged ddotgalbi (Jeju-style pork ribs with belly) and special pork collar, along with sauces and side dishes like meljeot, a garlic and salted shrimp special sauce and wasabi, so you never get tired of it and it tastes even better.
They proudly show off the meat, which they say is stored with 10 years of aging know-how and is top grade only, and you can see their confidence haha. Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi says it uses pork from Dongbu Chuksan on Jeju Island, a clean, pristine area. So it's tender and juicy, and everyone at the table will enjoy it.

The fresh side dishes come out nicely too, so they're great for wrapping up bits here and there. You can eat without getting tired of it.

The meat turning golden brown, ugh!! Maybe because the meat itself is good quality, it looked great and was so tender that it tasted even better.

What two people ordered: 2 collar, 1 Jeju ribs, 1 rice
At Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi Geomdan Main Branch, the two of us ordered 2 servings of special pork collar, 1 serving of Jeju ddotgalbi and 1 bowl of rice.
- 2 servings of special pork collar
- 1 serving of Jeju ddotgalbi (pork ribs)
- 1 bowl of rice

At first I wondered if it would be enough, but once we ate, the meat was really thick and filling! They say Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi prepares its pork with an aging method they've researched for a long time.
Maybe that's why the meat had a lovely rosy color even before going on the grill, and the texture looked firm. The sizzle of the meat is something else, haha.

How does the special pork collar taste compared with regular collar?
Well-aged meat shows its difference while grilling too: the outside cooked up appetizingly while the inside stayed moist, haha.
On the first bite I didn't notice any gamey smell at all, and the more I chewed, the more nutty flavor spread! I usually like pork collar, and this special collar was much chewier and yet softer than regular collar, so I was happy with it.
Do the staff grill the meat?
Yes, at the Geomdan Main Branch the staff grill from start to finish, so the meal was relaxing. At BBQ places you're often too busy grilling to enjoy yourself, but they handle the heat and the flipping, so we could eat the meat at its best, and they cut it into bite-sized pieces, which was so convenient haha.
Since we didn't have to watch the grilling time, we could chat leisurely and really enjoy the meal. Jeju ddotgalbi uses the meat attached along the rib bones, so it's pleasantly chewy! A faint charcoal aroma soaked in, the outside browned and the inside stayed juicy, so we kept reaching for more haha.

What cut is ddotgalbi?
In the Jeju dialect, "ddot" means pig, so ddotgalbi means pork ribs. It's a cut trimmed to combine the tastiest part of the pork rib bones with the belly. It isn't overly fatty, so I could eat it to the end without feeling heavy, and it tasted clean yet deeply savory. The flavor of the meat is so good that even a light dip in salt is enough.
The one I enjoyed most was the special pork collar, which was trimmed much thicker than ordinary collar, so chewing it was really satisfying haha.

The outside was nicely crisp while the inside stayed moist and very juicy. With every bite the nutty flavor lingered in my mouth, and I understood why so many people come here. The kind of meat you'll crave again after eating, such quality!

Finishing with rice: my verdict on Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi
I originally planned to eat just the meat, but as we ate, rice naturally came to mind haha. Eating it with hot rice made the flavor of the meat come alive even more, and putting it on top piece by piece was tastier and more filling.
Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi, the BBQ place in Dangha-dong near Wanjeong Station, let me really feel the charm of aged meat. Perhaps thanks to its 10 years of aging know-how, both the special pork collar and the Jeju ddotgalbi were very satisfying, and the thickness and texture of the meat exceeded my expectations.

If you're looking for delicious Jeju aged pork, I recommend Dwitgolmok Ddotgalbi near Wanjeong Station in Dangha-dong! Next time I want to go again and try the other cuts too. If you want to taste properly aged meat near Wanjeong Station, be sure to stop by.
