Yeongjong bakery café with unique bagels and garden: Pink Wall Cafe

Is it convenient to stop by on the way to Eulwang-ri by car?

I was out for some fresh air around Eulwang-ri when I spotted an entirely pink building and pulled over. Pink Wall Cafe (핑크월카페) is a large bakery café centered on bagels, located on Yongyuseo-ro in Yeongjong. There was parking in front of the building as well as a separate first parking lot, so parking was easy.

Because it is along a national road, getting there without a car felt a little awkward. It was convenient to stop by while driving around Eulwang-ri.

What are the outdoor garden and photo areas like?

The entire building was pink, so it stood out even from a distance. An outdoor terrace and parasol seating extended across the front, while a large gravel yard sat behind it.

Before going inside, I took a lap around the garden beside it. Tables sat beneath parasols woven like thatched roofs, and they looked nice for sitting outside on a good-weather day. There were also glass-greenhouse-like spaces and potted plants throughout.

Old-fashioned lights were mounted on the pink exterior wall, and the approach was a path of stepping stones set among gravel. A large bagel illustration was painted on the wall too. After looking around inside and coming back out, I also noticed a photo spot with a bench in front of the pink wall.

Is there seating for groups indoors?

Long rows of wooden tables ran through the interior, making it comfortable to sit.

The garden was visible through the windows, and with plenty of tables, it looked like there would be enough seating even for a group.

There were plenty of pink decorations inside too. A pink elephant stool and bear-shaped object lamps made it fun to look around.

Pink telephones and other decorations were placed around the counter as well, creating more spots worth photographing.

At the time of my visit, there was also a notice saying that posting a photo taken with the pink wall on social media could earn you satu gwaja (chestnut-shaped pastry).

What desserts are available besides bagels, and how much are they?

The display case held cake slices and fruit tarts. A cake topped with Shine Muscat grapes and a kiwi tart caught my eye. At the time, fruit tarts were ₩6,500 and carrot cake was ₩9,000. The refrigerator also had drinks such as Sangha Farm organic juice.

What did the sweet red bean and mocha cream cheese bagels taste like?

I chose the sweet red bean bagel and the mocha cream cheese bagel because they were varieties I do not often see. Each bagel came with a cream cheese, and I chose plain and blueberry.

I put the two bagels on a plate and ordered an iced latte too. The sweet red bean bagel was studded with black sesame seeds, and when I cut it in half, it had a thick layer of sweet red bean paste inside.

The mocha cream cheese bagel had a generous amount of cream cheese inside. Along with the sweetness of mocha, I could taste the nutty, tangy flavor of the cream cheese. I also spread cream cheese on the cut side of the sweet red bean bagel; it went well with the red beans, tasting both savory and sweet.

The combination of a bagel's characteristically chewy texture and sweet red beans felt distinctive.

Can you pack up leftover bread?

I could self-pack leftover bread to take away. It was a nice visit for trying unusual bagels and taking a leisurely look around the garden and photo spots.
