On a weekday evening, I went to Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch in Baekseok-dong with my child, who loves duck. I was curious about their "duck chadol grill," which is different from regular grilled duck, and it was so delicious!

Where is Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch, and what are the hours?

It's near Cheonan City Hall, and it's only about 10 minutes by car from Bulddang-dong! We went for dinner, but there's a lunch special too, so lots of people come for lunch as well.

There's a roomy private parking lot right in front of the restaurant. I wondered at first whether there was any parking, but it fits more than 10 cars comfortably, so you can come without parking stress.

Is it a good place to go with kids? Kids' room and baby chairs

Tables and interior space at Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch

Inside, the restaurant is clean and has a kids' room, private rooms and baby chairs. It felt spacious and airy, not stuffy at all, and the tables are well spaced. Lots of families with children were there, like us. There are separate rooms, and plenty of baby chairs were ready.

The kids' room is exactly why we chose Ori The Chadol! There's a space where my child could play for a bit before the food came out, so I didn't have to hear "put on a video for me," which was great. We sat at a table right in front of the kids' room so my child could go back and forth easily!

How is duck chadol grill different from regular grilled duck?

Ori The Chadol has set menus, but they include jumulleok (marinated, seasoned meat) that my child can't eat, so we ordered only the duck chadol grill!

Thinly sliced duck chadol meat

I liked that the duck chadol grill is thin and easy to eat. Regular duck meat is thick, but the duck chadol is sliced thin, so it's tender, easy on the stomach, and cooks quickly.

Unlimited wrap vegetables, with minari as the perfect match

At Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch, we could eat as many wrap vegetables as we liked, including lettuce, perilla leaves, onion and minari (water dropwort). Vegetable prices aren't cheap these days, so the generous supply was really satisfying. Meat alone can feel heavy and greasy, but eating it with fresh vegetables made the meal feel much healthier. The minari is an especially perfect match, so I really recommend trying it! haha

Even though it's chadol, the duck chadol grill isn't very greasy and has a clean, nutty flavor, so both kids and adults will like it! When I cut it into small pieces, my child ate it really well haha. Put it on crunchy wrap vegetables and you get an even fuller duck chadol experience.

Can kids eat the self-serve fried rice?

The self-serve fried rice at Ori The Chadol is spicy, so my child ordered plain steamed rice from the start and ate it with the duck chadol grill, while only my husband and I had the fried rice haha. We finished the meal with self-serve fried rice after eating a good amount of meat.

The savory flavor from the meat mixed with the seasoning is a combination that just can't be bad! I thought I was full, but my spoon kept going back. The fried rice was a perfect finish.

Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch also serves rice crackers and coffee as dessert, so we left after a really full dinner. I heard that for the whole month of June they run a Patriots and Veterans Month discount event for soldiers, police, firefighters and national merit holders, so if that's you, it's worth using during the June event period.

Who would I recommend Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch to?

A celebrity visit photo shows it's a great restaurant! haha

Ori The Chadol Cheonan City Hall branch is a Baekseok-dong favorite that gets both flavor and health right! I especially recommend it to people who usually like duck but wanted something special.

  • People looking for a family restaurant with a kids' room
  • People who want to eat meat comfortably with a child
  • People looking for a great duck restaurant in Cheonan

I hear the jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is that good too, so next time I'll have to come back for the lunch special haha
