Tteokmama Cheongju Yullyang Branch is a rice cake café in Yullyang-dong, Cheongju, selling pizza sulgi (pizza-topped rice cake), which is having a huge moment right now. When I heard there was a place selling pizza sulgi in my own neighborhood, I ran straight over to buy some!! There aren't many places selling it in Cheongju, so I'm so grateful to the rice cake shop willing to sell it,, went to Tteokmama Cheongju Yullyang Branch!

I visited around weekday lunchtime, and maybe because it was right before Chuseok, a lot of the rice cakes at Tteokmama were already sold out. The moment I walked in, I looked for the pizza sulgi first haha

How much is Tteokmama's pizza sulgi?

Tteokmama's pizza sulgi is 2,500 won each. It's covered in pepperoni, olives, bell peppers and other toppings, so I was satisfied!! I checked first that the pizza sulgi was in stock, grabbed one right away, and then looked around at the other rice cakes.

What kinds of tteok does Tteokmama Cheongju Yullyang Branch have?

Besides sulgi, Tteokmama Cheongju Yullyang Branch has all kinds of rice cakes ready, from good-looking five-color songpyeon to sparkling honey tteok, mosi songpyeon, and garaetteok (long cylindrical rice cake). I picked them out excitedly, like choosing bread at a bakery!

There's also cup tteok, easy to eat as a light snack, great for grabbing before heading out somewhere, and the packaging is so clean and pretty that it's perfect for gifting too!

Tteokmama Cheongju Yullyang Branch also sells Coocat brand chapssaltteok, and it's genuinely delicious! If you suddenly crave it, you can't usually get it right away — you'd have to order from Coupang or Kurly and eat it the next day — but with Tteokmama you can just go whenever the craving hits!!

Since Tteokmama is a rice cake café, you can order coffee drinks and other beverages too! Buying rice cakes and having them with coffee sounds so good! There are kids' drinks as well, so it's a nice spot to visit with your kids for a tteok snack.

How did the 5 kinds of tteok bought right before Chuseok taste?

I bought pizza sulgi, strawberry jam sulgi, red bean siruttteok, gijeongtteok (steamed fermented rice cake), and sesame mosi songpyeon from Tteokmama! Regular rice cake shops usually don't have much variety, and not many modern-style tteok, but Tteokmama had quite a lot of them!

Pizza sulgi: it really felt like eating pizza

Tteokmama's pizza sulgi kept the fluffy charm of sulgi intact, with a mild, not-too-strong pizza sauce inside that kept it moist, and various toppings on top that made it taste just like eating real pizza. It's not too intense, so it's good for kids to eat and would suit older folks' tastes too.

Strawberry jam sulgi and red bean siruttteok

The strawberry jam sulgi and red bean siruttteok were also pleasantly sweet and delicious, so I ended up eating them along with coffee!! I love siru- and sulgi-type rice cakes, so I really enjoyed these!

Gijeongtteok: a chewy, purely white flavor

Gijeongtteok has a chewy texture with a purely white kind of flavor! I honestly don't know why this rice cake is so tasty. Seriously so good~ I bought a variety of tteok at Tteokmama, and all of them were delicious and not too sweet, so I was completely satisfied.
