Dinner here was so satisfying that if a friend asks me for a recommendation near Sinbu-dong, I'll say Sinbu Garden :) I stopped by for dinner with my mom and stumbled on this amazing rib place, haha. I couldn't spot the sign at first, but the restaurant is up on the 2nd floor??

What's the atmosphere at Sinbu Garden like?

Sinbu Garden isn't flashy or trendy. It's a pork rib place full of old-school charm. The moment I climbed to the 2nd floor and walked in, I thought, wow, this is the real deal, haha. It feels like a place that has held its spot for a long time. Nothing glossy or hip, just the old-school vibe I love.

The coziness is different from other places. It's comfortable and warm, the kind of atmosphere that relaxes you. The pork ribs in Sinbu-dong are delicious here, seriously.

Good food with my mom, enjoying something we both love and having a nice time together made me happy^^ That made it an even more memorable meal. If you're looking for a great pork rib place, go. You can have a really solid, filling meal, and the atmosphere is good too.

At Sinbu Garden you can choose between barbecue flavor and spicy. The writer recommends medium spicy, which is pleasantly hot. If you can't handle spice at all, barbecue flavor is probably better.

I accidentally ordered barbecue flavor and changed it to medium spicy right away!! The medium here is pleasantly spicy. But if you can't eat spicy food at all, barbecue flavor is probably better^^ The seasoning is moderate, not overdone, so it went well with the rice balls too and I enjoyed it all around.

Is there a wait at Sinbu Garden at dinner time?

I visited Sinbu Garden at dinner time and it was full of customers, but luckily we got in right away with no wait. They really do pork ribs well here in Sinbu-dong. With so many diners, I figured it's popular with people in the neighborhood, haha.

Mom and I ordered the signature pork ribs, and after a short wait a generous, steaming spread arrived. Huge bones piled with meat... the spicy seasoning is so savory, ugh. Just looking at it makes my mouth water, haha.

The food is here, ugh! Oh my... this is a look that begs for photos, haha. I think I took about twenty photos of the ribs alone...?

How were the taste and portion?

The bones at Sinbu Garden are huge, and the meat is cooked until tender, so it separates from the bone easily. It's clean with no gamey smell, and the steamed egg served alongside was fluffy and generous.

First off, the ribs at Sinbu Garden are enormous, haha. Meaning they're hearty... so good, ugh. The meat is slow-cooked, so it comes off the bone softly. No gamey smell the whole time, just clean 👍🏻👍🏻 The steamed egg was super fluffy, the best ever. And the portions are really big... haha.

The seasoning is moderately spicy and savory, so you keep eating it with rice, haha. They do pork ribs well in Sinbu-dong. It isn't harsh, so I think everyone would like it. It felt just deliciously spicy, haha. Mom said the meat was tender too.

Are the rice balls worth ordering?

At Sinbu Garden, the rice ball ingredients and seaweed flakes come in a bowl and you put on hygiene gloves and make them yourself. Dipped in the rib sauce they pair wonderfully with the spicy ribs, so the writer says you must order them.

I made the rice balls I ordered and dipped them in the rib sauce, and this... hey, you have to order this, okay?? The seaweed flakes and rice ingredients come in a bowl like this, and shaping them yourself with hygiene gloves is kind of fun, haha. Roll them into little balls and one bite fills your mouth with nutty flavor;; Perfect pairing with the spicy ribs...

Would I go back to Sinbu Garden?

Even the entrance felt fun and intriguing, and the ribs are totally my style.. The seasoning is moderately spicy and savory. This is what a great restaurant is.. you keep eating with the rice balls.
