Cheonan café with tent zone rates and Pino Shupeneo: Pino Cafe

A tasty sandwich spot with photo zones everywhere — a fun little date course

This is Kongratte, writing a review haha. I visited Pino Cafe near Taehaksan in Pungse, Cheonan with family on a weekday afternoon.

If you're looking for a good brunch café in Cheonan, this place is really solid.

Even on a weekday there were quite a few cars parked and plenty of people inside the café.

A well-known café in Pungse for good reason — and the weather was perfect for a little outing too.

Where is Pino Cafe Cheonan, and what are the hours?

Pino Cafe is at 99-23 Hyuyangnim-gil, Pungse-myeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, right next to Taehaksan Natural Recreation Forest. It's open daily 10:00–20:30, year-round.

Seeing how packed the menu is, I get why it's known as a great Cheonan brunch café. Being right next to Taehaksan Recreation Forest, it seems especially popular with families.

The building and the 2,000-pyeong garden sign

The first thing you notice on arrival is the wide-open building and parking lot. When people think of Pino Cafe Cheonan, the huge garden usually comes to mind first — but just looking at the café building, you'd never guess how big the garden actually is.

Then you see the sign at the entrance that says "2,000-pyeong garden," and suddenly your expectations shoot up for how big and pretty it might be. Being right beside Taehaksan Natural Recreation Forest, the scale really does set it apart from your average Cheonan brunch café.

There's a wide parking area right in front of and beside the café, plus a separate second lot. You really don't need to worry about parking here.

Popular Pungse café that it is, it's already this full on a weekday — I'd recommend giving yourself extra time if you're going on a weekend.

Window seats in the main building and the annex

The inside of Pino Cafe has big glass windows, so you can see the scenery outside even while seated. Maybe because the light comes in so well, photos taken during the day came out especially pretty.

The interior is stylish too — good for photos, good for conversation, and just right for a meal.

The main building also has a separate room, but on this visit it was already fully reserved. That probably says a lot about how many people want that room.

If you're in a larger group or bringing a pet, it seems worth asking about seating in advance.

The annex is set up privately too — a completely different feel from the main building 👍 A quieter space to eat in.

What's on the menu at Pino Cafe Cheonan

The menu ranges from pizza, pasta and salad to bread, brunch dishes, sandwiches, coffee and other drinks.

Last time I only got patbingsu (red bean shaved ice) and bread to go, but this time I actually sat down and ate properly.

This time I ordered three things: the croissant sandwich platter, spicy bulgogi rosé pasta, and a Pino Shupeneo.

The plating is so pretty. It comes with a croissant sandwich, a seasonal salad, sausage, fried egg, fries with ketchup, and salad dressing — a generous spread that's easy to share.

There was potato salad inside the sandwich too. Bread, vegetables and potato salad together made for great texture and real fullness. With sausage and fried egg on the side, it was a brunch that easily stood in for a full meal.

Spicy bulgogi rosé pasta

This was the second dish I'd been looking forward to as a Cheonan brunch café favorite — it's a rosé pasta loaded with bulgogi (marinated beef), and the portion is much bigger than expected.

The spice level isn't harsh at all, so it was fine to share with a kid. There's a reason it's called a great pasta spot near Taehaksan. Eating it while looking out at the garden made it taste even better. I've had pasta at plenty of Cheonan brunch cafés, but I think I'll keep coming back for this one.

Pino Shupeneo, the salted-coffee-style signature

For a drink I ordered the Pino Shupeneo — soft cream sits on top of the coffee, pairing well with the strong coffee underneath, and it had a faint salted-coffee flavor too.

Next time I'll have to try the salt bread it's famous for as well.

A great pasta spot near Taehaksan that's also good at dessert — one more reason to go.

The garden walk you shouldn't skip

Step out through the door connecting the café to the garden and it's decorated so prettily you half expect Snow White and the dwarfs to show up. When people think of Pino Cafe near Taehaksan, the outdoor garden is really the main draw.

They say the garden alone is about 2,000 pyeong, and walking through it, you really do feel just how big that is.

The flowers change by theme, and right now the yellow cosmos are in full bloom.

I heard the daisies were beautiful last season — since the mood changes completely with each season, it seems like it'd be fun to come back and see the difference.

With the weather so nice, the yellow cosmos colors looked especially vivid.

A garden café in Cheonan really is a great spot for photos.

There are photo zones set up nicely throughout the garden. You naturally end up snapping photos while just taking a walk.

Past the yellow cosmos is the area that was recently a daisy garden, and there's another themed garden being prepped for the next season.

If you're looking for a garden café in Cheonan, this place is really, really good.

Tent zone and camp-picnic rates

Up to the right of the flower field, inside the lawn area, there's a private tent zone and a separate camp-picnic space too — lots of people were using it on weekends. Tables and chairs are set up inside the tents, and with full heating and cooling, it looks like a comfortable place to relax.

There were acorns scattered all over the lawn, so cute I had to snap a photo haha.

Next time I want to come with family and take it slow using the tents.

Looking at Pino Cafe from the garden side, even though it's the same building, it feels totally different depending on the angle. There was fun in looking around from different sides, and surprisingly many spots for photos.

What stood out at Pino Cafe Cheonan

After a prettily plated brunch and then a walk through the garden, I felt full and at ease.

Walking a loop through the yellow cosmos field, I saw a lot of families with kids and quite a few groups gathered at tables.

Even on a weekday afternoon, everyone seemed to be settling in and staying a long time comfortably. It's rare to find a Cheonan brunch café that makes you want to linger this long.

Now that I've been myself, I understand why Pino Cafe Cheonan gets so many repeat-visit reviews. Haha.

The menu lineup is solid, the garden is huge, and above all the air is so nice it felt like a real bit of healing.

Final verdict on Pino Cafe Cheonan

If you're looking for somewhere to eat and take a little outing with family, Pino Cafe is the first place I'd recommend as a Cheonan brunch café.

It suits families with kids or group gatherings just as well, so if you're after a fun date spot in Cheonan, it works well as a date course too.

A Cheonan brunch café with a garden this expansive is honestly rare.
