Fruit mochi sando and chestnut bread at Steel Green Bakery, Cheonan

My husband and I visited Steel Green Bakery, a large café in Cheonan. This is a record of our visit — from the spacious garden and fountain to the lush green views through the floor-to-ceiling windows, all the way to the self-serve zone where you can warm your own bread.

It had been a while since my husband and I had a relaxed café date with some bread! This time we went to Steel Green Bakery in Seongeo, Cheonan.

At first we just said, "let's grab some bread and coffee and head out." But once we got there, there was so much to see from the 1st to the 4th floor, plus a garden and a rooftop, so it turned into bread → looking around → photos → walking around some more, haha. And the weather that day was working overtime — blue sky, fluffy clouds, everything looked great in photos no matter where we shot. So here's the story of our surprisingly fun trip to Steel Green Bakery, a big café in Cheonan :)

Where is Steel Green Bakery, and what are the hours and parking like?

Steel Green Bakery is located at 46 Cheonheung 4-gil, Seongeo-eup, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and it's open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, with last order at 20:30. Given how big the place is, there's also a large parking lot, so it's easy to visit by car.

The building itself was so big that as soon as we arrived, I thought, there's going to be a lot to see today, haha. Apparently it's open even during Chuseok holidays, so stop by with family for a chat :)

What is on each floor of Steel Green Bakery, from 1F to 4F?

Steel Green Bakery isn't just one big floor — the space continues from the 1st all the way to the 4th floor. According to the floor guide:

• 3F Group Seating & Gathering Space
• 4F Rooftop Garden & Stairway to Heaven

Right when you walk in on the 1st floor, you find the space where you order bakery items and drinks.

And this is where my eyes started going wild, haha. Past the bread display, going up to the upper floors, the vibe completely changes.

The second-floor indoor fountain garden

The 2nd floor in particular has palm trees, lush greenery, and a fountain visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows, so even sitting indoors didn't feel stuffy at all.

With sunlight pouring in too, it was a space where just sitting there felt good! There were also several baby chairs set up, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're visiting with a child.

Third-floor group seating and the fourth-floor rooftop

The 3rd floor has group seating and a gathering space. Since it was just the two of us, we went, "oh, there's this here too?" and just looked around before heading up again, haha.

And once you go up to the 4th floor, a rooftop and outdoor space appear. We clearly just came for bread...

Touring the café from the 1st to the 4th floor, haha. Each floor felt different, so instead of just sitting down right away, it was more fun to explore level by level.

What breads and drinks does Steel Green Bakery sell, and at what prices?

As soon as we walked into the 1st floor, we made a lap around the bakery display case.

From mochi bagels to croissants, salt bread, sliced bread, sausage bread, plus cakes and cookies!

There was such a variety that my husband and I kept going, "should we get this one?" "wait, that one looks good too," haha.

There were only two of us, but somehow there were so many things we wanted to eat. After a long back-and-forth, we picked four: fruit mochi sando, melon bread, long sausage bread, and chestnut bread.

And the drink menu was just as varied as the bread! Coffee, non-coffee, tea, ades, smoothies, even ice cream, and you could switch to oat milk for +₩500. What caught my eye were Steel Green's four signature iced shupreme drinks!

• Vanilla toffee nut iced shupreme ₩7,300
• Long black iced shupreme ₩6,800
• Mocha iced shupreme ₩7,300
• Latte iced shupreme ₩7,300

Apparently the vanilla toffee nut has a vanilla-and-nut base, the long black is a regular Americano topped with sweet cream, the mocha is a milk-and-chocolate base, and the latte is milk with sweet cream added. There was also the green berry shupreme at ₩7,800, which really caught the eye visually.

I only meant to glance at the menu board, but with the poster right next to it, the drinks kept tempting me too, haha. We'd already picked four breads and should have stopped there, but we ended up standing in front of the drinks debating for a while too, haha.

At the time of our visit, there was also an event running where you'd get a free cookie for writing a receipt review. Event details may change by the time you visit, so check in person :)

With that, bread and drinks were ordered! Once we spread it all out on the table, it looked even more generous than expected.

How did the fruit mochi sando, melon bread, long sausage bread and chestnut bread taste?

The best-looking one: fruit mochi sando

The clear visual winner that day was the fruit mochi sando! Thick bread packed with cream, dotted with fruit like strawberries, kiwi, and green grapes. And true to its name, mochi was tucked in there too, so the cross-section alone was pretty striking.

So I took one solo shot, one after slicing it, another lifted up on a fork, haha — how many photos did I take of this one thing... The layers of bread, cream, fruit, and mochi were clearly visible, making it a genuinely fun menu item to photograph.

Small and round: melon bread

Next was the round, cute melon bread!

The outside had the classic melon bread lattice pattern, and once cut in half, there was a pale green filling inside. It was cute just looking at the outside, but cutting it open made the cross-section even cuter. Yes, I photographed it again, haha.

Hard to miss: long sausage bread

And standing out among the sweet breads was the long sausage bread! The photo alone explains why it's called "long" sausage bread, haha.

A long sausage is baked in, topped with sauce and other toppings, so it clearly stood out among the other three breads.

Cutting it and lifting a piece with a fork revealed a chunky sausage all the way through, giving us a solid cross-section shot too.

My husband's pick: chestnut bread

Last was the chestnut bread my husband loves! We checked the cross-section right after cutting it, and you could see chunks of chestnut tucked between the layers of bread.

You could see the chestnut in the cut slice, and again when lifted on a fork! If you love chestnut bread, you just can't walk past a cross-section like this, haha. We topped it with some of the fruit mochi cream and ate it up, hehe.

We shared all four this way, passing pieces back and forth going "try this too~," chatting in between bites, glancing out the window, then another bite of bread, haha. This kind of café time is honestly my favorite.

The self-serve oven zone for warming bread — and can you order takeout?

If you want your bread warmer, Steel Green Bakery has a self-serve zone set up on the side. There's a microwave and an oven, with instructions for the oven posted in front. There was even a baby chair right next to the oven!!

The line that caught my eye: "Salt bread goes in the oven! The microwave is for rice." Haha, that's so firm about it. I'm guessing someone definitely tried to put salt bread in the microwave before..^^

If you have leftover bread, you can pack it up yourself using the bags provided, so it was easy to grab a variety of breads and take home whatever we couldn't finish.

Honestly, the weather deserves a lot of credit for how pretty Steel Green Bakery looked that day. Blue sky, fluffy white clouds, plus a lush garden with palm trees and a fountain — the camera came out great no matter where we pointed it.

Pretty from inside looking out through the windows, pretty stepping outside to shoot the garden! We got a shot with the "still, green" sign too, photos on the rooftop, photos in the garden, haha.

At the end, my husband and I took a photo together in front of the building. And when there's a mirror, you just can't walk past it — we made sure to get a mirror shot too, haha.

Eating bread, checking out the garden, walking around taking photos everywhere — my husband and I had a proper café date. You don't need to go somewhere far and fancy; this kind of time, chatting over good food and then stepping outside going "the weather's nice~" to take photos, tends to stick in the memory longer than I'd expect, haha.
