Cheonan café near Taehaksan forest with vanilla affogato: Pino Cafe

I was trying to figure out what to eat for lunch with my dad, and we ended up at Pino Cafe Cheonan, a large Western-style café in Pungse.

Where is Pino Cafe Cheonan, and where do you park?

Pino Cafe Cheonan is located near Taehaksan Natural Recreation Forest in Pungse, and it was easy to find thanks to clear signage at the entrance. Parking was a relief too — there's a large lot just for the café, so I didn't have to worry about parking even coming by car.

What we ordered at Pino Cafe Cheonan

Pino Cafe serves brunch, and the brunch menu was really varied — plus they sell bakery items and cookies alongside it, which was nice to see. On this visit we ordered the Shrimp & Potato pizza and the Special Lunch, and for drinks, cold brew and a vanilla apogato.

Main building, annex and outdoor seating — and where dogs can sit

Pino Cafe isn't just the main building — the annex and outdoor spaces each have a different concept. It's also a dog-friendly café, so it seemed like a great place to bring a pet along.

After a short wait, our order and drinks came out.

Shrimp and potato half-and-half pizza

This half-and-half pizza let us enjoy two flavors at once. The plump, fresh shrimp paired beautifully with arugula, and the potato-and-bacon side was a fantastic combo. The crust was on the thin side, so it wasn't heavy, and overall the taste was clean and light enough that we didn't get tired of it. If you like a bit of spice, I'd recommend adding hot sauce.

The Special Lunch set

This came with scrambled eggs, a seasonal salad, croissant toast, sausage, and fries with a special sauce — a nice way to enjoy several things at once: the freshness of the salad, the nutty softness of the scrambled eggs, and the savory sausage and fries. The croissant toast in particular felt unusual, since you don't often see it on other brunch menus.

Cold brew and vanilla affogato

The cold brew we ordered alongside had a clean taste that went well with the brunch dishes, and the vanilla apogato — ice cream topped with Oreo and cream — was great when you're craving something sweet, balancing the bitterness of the espresso with the sweet ice cream and Oreo cream.

Self-service tray station and washbasin

On one side there was a self-service packing station with a microwave, plus a sink for washing your hands, which was convenient. It seemed handy if you want to pack up leftovers from your brunch or bakery order.

The lawn tent zone and the red windmill photo spot

Since it's a dog-friendly café, there's a spacious lawn where pets can run around freely, along with tents for a romantic outdoor camp-picnic setup. Reservations run through Naver or on the spot, and same-day booking is possible too. The tents are fully heated and cooled and offer a private space, so I'd recommend them to anyone who loves camping.

We stepped outside to look around. The café's signature red windmill and the pretty flower field were so beautiful — it seemed like it'd be a popular photo spot on weekends.

There were outdoor tables too, so in weather this nice, it seemed like a great spot to have brunch or coffee outside.
