I heard a new brunch café had opened near Banwoldang Station, and I happened to have errands nearby, so I stopped by. This is my review of Dento, a new café in Banwoldang with a menu that lets you taste five sandwiches in one bite each . . ♥

Where is Dento and how is the parking?
Dento is on the café alley in Bongsan-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu. Parking is hard in Bongsan-dong, so I recommend a nearby private parking lot or taking public transport!

What is the atmosphere inside Dento, and is it okay to go alone?
Dento, the new brunch café near Banwoldang Station, has plenty of tables for 2 to 4 people, so it's a relaxed space to use. The interior is dark-toned with warm lighting, which makes it feel cozy and moody (˶❛⩊❛˵)♥
It felt quiet and comfortable overall, so it was great for visiting alone and taking my time.

Dento menu and what I ordered with prices
You can check the menu at the counter. It's a brunch café in Banwoldang, but besides coffee they also sell bottled beer and wine, so it seems like a nice place for a light drink too.
I wanted to try all five sandwich flavors a little at a time, so I ordered like this 🤍
- Bite-size open sandwiches ₩12,000
- Homemade tomato soup ₩5,000
- Iced drip coffee ₩4,000

What is at Dento's self-serve bar?
There's a self-serve bar in the middle of the café. Water, wet wipes, tissues, disposable gloves, small plates and cutlery are all there, so you can just grab what you need.

They brought the food to my seat ꒰ᐢ ෆ ·̫ ෆ ᐢ꒱っ◝🩵 The plating was so pretty that the photos turned out well however I shot them, hehe

How is Dento's iced drip coffee?
The drip coffee came with a cute coaster ☕ It leaned a little more toward acidity than a nutty flavor. I usually prefer nutty, heavy coffee, but this bright style was pretty good too.

Dento's homemade tomato soup
Dento's homemade tomato soup 🍅 Crispy croutons sat on top of smooth tomato soup.

It was thick, with a generous pile of croutons, and it came out warm, so it went really well with the sandwiches 🧡

Dento's five bite-size open sandwiches and their size
Dento's signature bite-size open sandwiches 🥪 are five toppings, each piled on crisp toasted baguette in a one-bite portion. The staff brought them to the table and briefly explained each kind. From the left, the order is:
- Pan con tomate (tomato on bread)
- Avocado salmon
- Romesco grilled vegetables
- Shrimp rémoulade
- Truffle ricotta
Honestly, you could eat each in one bite, but they were a size best split into two or three bites (they're surprisingly big, which I liked).

Pan con tomate, avocado salmon and shrimp rémoulade
The first one I tried, the pan con tomate, was piled with finely chopped tomato, so it tasted fresh and bright. It was a nice light first bite.
The avocado salmon had soft smoked salmon on creamy avocado, and it was clean and mild to eat haha
The shrimp rémoulade felt a bit like creamy shrimp!? Plump shrimp tossed in a creamy sauce with a slightly tangy flavor, and that was charming too!

Second place: romesco grilled vegetables
All five sandwiches had their charm, but my second favorite was the romesco grilled vegetables ( ♡‧̫♡ )
The flavor of the grilled vegetables came together with the romesco sauce (a little spicy) and it was rich and delicious. I don't like eggplant or broccoli, but they went so well with the sauce that I finished it all ^___^

First place: truffle ricotta
The best of Dento's five bite-size sandwiches was the truffle ricotta (,,o̴̶̷᷄ ̫o̴̶̷᷅,,) !!
I already like ricotta cheese and love truffle aroma, so this sandwich combining the two was a pass from the start. But the truffle aroma hit me the moment I took a bite and the flavor was so good . . .🍄🟫🤎 Whoever thought of pairing ricotta with truffle, the owner is a genius. .
Verdict: Dento is a quiet Bongsan-dong café that's good to visit alone
Dento, the new café in Bongsan-dong, felt cozy and comfortable overall, so it was great for spending time alone! The bite-size open sandwiches with five different flavors were appealing too, and personally the truffle ricotta suited my taste best, so next time I'm going back for the truffle ricotta jambon sandwich they sell as a standalone menu item ˁ ˈ ᵕ ˈ ˀ♡
If you're looking for a quiet café in Bongsan-dong, or a new brunch café near Banwoldang Station, I recommend the sandwich café Dento 💚
