Kid-friendly pork BBQ set with kiosk ordering in Gyeongsan

In short

Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch is a table-grilled pork restaurant at the entrance to the Oksan-dong restaurant alley in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk. Visiting with a 4-year-old, the writer ordered the gourmet set of pork belly, pork neck, and pork jowl, added two servings of fried rice, and received a free daechang (beef intestine) hot pot for arriving before 5pm. With its own parking lot, group seating, and a prize-draw gift for kids, it made for a satisfying family meal out.

First photo from the visit to Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch

Weekends are for eating something good with my 4-year-old, Jenny ~ ~ ~ We debated what to eat, and since my family is all about meat, our pick was pork haha. So we went to Kkotdwaeji Sikdang, a famous meat restaurant in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan.

At the entrance to Oksan-dong restaurant alley in Gyeongsan — what about parking?

It's right at the entrance to the Oksan-dong restaurant alley in Gyeongsan, so it's easy to get to, and there's a spacious dedicated parking lot in the back, so no need to worry about parking. So convenient, seriously. Parked up nicely, now let's go eat haha.

Spacious, clean interior of Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch

Wow, true to its reputation as a famous restaurant, the interior is so spacious and clean. Great for families and couples, but it also has group seating, so it'd be perfect for gatherings or company dinners in Gyeongsan too.

Order kiosk placed at each table

Ordering the gourmet set, made easy with a kiosk

Every table has its own kiosk, so ordering is convenient. There were so many set options I spent forever deciding. Besides being a great meat restaurant in Gyeongsan, apparently their daechang hot pot and kimchi hot pot are also amazing. We ordered the gourmet set to share with our kid haha.

Neatly arranged basic side dishes and sauces

Whoa, the basic side dishes and sauces were no joke — everything came out so neatly and cleanly arranged. Made me think, yeah, there's always a reason a place is famous haha. That fresh chive kimchi was also seriously delicious.

A place that grills pork belly, neck, and jowl for you

Woahhh, today's main meat has arrived. Pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl — how did they know I love all of them and put them in one set. So fresh, and such great cuts too. They showed it to us like this, then grilled it in the back and brought it out — a place that grills the meat for you is seriously the best haha.

Grill topped with rice cake, tomato, mushroom, kimchi, and bean sprouts

Haaa, the visuals were amazing. I'd heard a lot about Kkotdwaeji Sikdang but kept wondering why I hadn't come sooner. There were tons of side items to enjoy with it too — rice cake, tomato, mushroom, kimchi, bean sprouts, and more. Surprised me.

Ha, when something's delicious, you gotta zoom in one more time. They grilled the delicious meat so well it tasted even better. Our princess Jenny said it was delicious too and inhaled it. The meat was really juicy, and my personal pick was the pork jowl — chewy yet moist, so, so good, ugh.

Dipping the pork jowl in the curry sauce and bean powder sauce along with bean sprouts and chive kimchi — this is seriously the best combo. My husband was also happy he didn't have to grill the meat himself and said he was super satisfied haha.

Prize-draw gift given to child customers

Why it's great to visit with kids — the prize-draw gift

Another great thing about this restaurant — it's so kid-friendly that child customers get to do a prize draw for a gift. Our Jenny drew a spinning top and was so excited she held onto it the entire meal (please just put it down, haha). Small but thoughtful touches like this were really touching.

Two servings of fried rice made with meat and vegetables

You have to add the fried rice

If you're Korean, no matter how full you are, you can't resist fried rice made on the same pan with all that meat and veggies. We added two servings of fried rice haha. Nicely spicy-sweet, and even two servings was a huge portion, so we ate our fill, truly. Oink oink, so hot. You absolutely must add the fried rice. Oink oink oink.

Daechang hot pot served free for visiting before 5pm

Visit before 5pm for a free daechang hot pot

Wait, visiting before 5pm gets you a free daechang hot pot? Amazing. We didn't know about it, so it felt like an unexpected gift. Eating the daechang hot pot together with the fried rice went down even better. I'm normally not a huge fan of makchang or gopchang, but I scraped the broth here clean. Absolutely delicious, seriously delicious.

Table at Kkotdwaeji Sikdang Gyeongsan Branch after the meal

Haa, this was such a delicious meal. The meat, side dishes, and sides were all delicious, everything was grilled just right ~ ~ ~ and the restaurant was clean and tidy too, plus great to visit with a young child, which made it even better. I fully, fully recommend Kkotdwaeji Sikdang as a meat restaurant near Gyeongsan Station in Oksan-dong, Gyeongsan. Do go visit once!
