Gwangalli sashimi with a 4-year-old, ₩60,000 Subyeon set: Geumrang
In short
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant on the 6th floor of a building near Millak Waterside Park in Suyeong, Busan, with a view of Gwangan Bridge. After booking ahead, the writer and a 4-year-old took a window seat at lunch for the Subyeon Hansang course at 60,000 won per person. The child ate all the abalone porridge and abalone, the assorted sashimi could be refilled on a small plate, and the spicy fish stew was satisfying as well. Geumrang Hoetjip is a good pick for an ocean-view sashimi course on a family trip to Busan without worrying about being overcharged.

Where is Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch?
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch (금랑횟집 광안리본점) is a sashimi restaurant with a Gwangan Bridge view, on the 6th floor of a building near Millak Waterside Park, by the Gwangalli sashimi center. Busan is just right.. always lovely, Busan.. If you came to Busan you have to eat a plate of raw fish, right?.. But I'm also a romantic and can't give up an ocean view.. so when I heard about a great sashimi place with a Gwangan Bridge view, I went. It's Geumrang!

Is parking easy near this Gwangalli sashimi restaurant?
Geumrang supports the public parking lot right in front, so parking was easy. Parking around Haeundae and Gwangalli is a living hell, so this is a relief.. And it's on the 6th floor, so I'm really looking forward to the view.. heading up.. haha

Is the Gwangan Bridge view good in the daytime?
I booked ahead and went around lunchtime, and they seated us right at a window table. Aaah.. a view where you can see the whole Gwangan Bridge.. The night view is great too, but the bridge in daylight is so good..

Geumrang menu and Subyeon Hansang price
Geumrang has hearty hansang (full-table set) courses like Subyeon Hansang and Gwangan Hansang, plus à la carte dishes such as assorted sashimi, hoedeopbap (sashimi rice bowl) and mulhoe (chilled raw fish soup). We ordered the best-selling Subyeon Hansang.

Starter abalone porridge and mulhoe buckwheat noodles
Subyeon Hansang starts with abalone porridge, which is sooo good.. our 4-year-old finished both bowls.. The mulhoe buckwheat noodles also came out, tangy and cold and really tasty, they woke up my appetite.. haha

Is this Gwangalli sashimi restaurant okay with kids?
Honestly, going to a sashimi restaurant with a little kid on a Busan trip feels a bit worrying and I was hesitant, but Geumrang serves such a variety, from the skidashi (small starter dishes) to the main dishes, that I strongly recommend bringing them.. hehe

Seafood in the Subyeon Hansang
Subyeon Hansang is a seafood party, a party.. Shrimp, sea cucumber, spoon worm, sea squirt and more fresh seafood, heaps of it.. On top of that there's soy-marinated shrimp, steamed egg, seaweed soup, salmon, jeon (savory pancakes) and on and on, the food just keeps coming.. here..

And of course there's abalone.. Our kid ate all of this too, so I never even tasted it.. such a fuss asking for more abalone.. haha.. Is it real that I was already full before the sashimi, the main dish, even came out?

Geumrang assorted sashimi: taste and refills
The main of Subyeon Hansang is assorted sashimi of premium fish. Aaah.. but the main is the sashimi, of course.. really chewy yet tender, the kind of taste that makes you feel you've come to Busan (?)

It looks fresh and tastes even better.. It was lunch so my husband and I couldn't have Cheongha (sake), such a pity.. Wrapped in the rice and gim (seaweed) that come with it, it beats Kang Min-kyung's flounder salt gimbap.. hehe.. And what makes Geumrang even more amazing is that this sashimi can be refilled on a small plate!

Mom and dad eat and eat again, while our kid draws pictures looking at the ocean view by the window.. haha. So cute and the view so lovely that I took a shot from behind.. hehe.. It's not easy to get a life-shot at a sashimi restaurant, but the Geumrang window seat is totally doable..

Spicy stew, corn tempura, roe rice and merou steak to finish
I'd scraped up all the sashimi and was truly full, but Geumrang's maeuntang (spicy fish stew) is the kind where your spoon won't stop.. Honestly the best maeuntang I've had at a sashimi restaurant.. My husband and I kept eating, saying how delicious it was.. oink oink..

This one, this one is a real treat too.. haha. Fried corn kernels sprinkled with corn seasoning powder, really sweet, something anyone of any age would like T.T Having this come out as a side dish is truly the best..

Along with the stew come roe rice, grilled flounder and merou steak. Wait.. when does this food introduction end?.. For ₩60,000 per person, a hansang course this big is a must-visit, right.. haha

If you're worried about overpriced sashimi in Gwangalli
Sorry, fishies.. thanks for the great meal, friends (?) Every time I come to Haeundae or Gwangalli in Busan I worry about getting ripped off at a sashimi restaurant, but just come to Geumrang, everyone.. I dare recommend it as the best sashimi restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan.. We're planning to come again next time with my parents.. haha
