Today the three of us, me, my partner and Cookie, went out for lunch at Taegyeongok (태경옥) in Dongin-dong, Daegu.

On days when I go out with Cookie, the first thing I check is whether the place allows pets. This time I was searching for dog-friendly restaurants in Daegu and found Taegyeongok, which serves clean, tidy Korean food, so I booked a 12:00 table on Naver and went haha
Where is Taegyeongok and where do you park?
Taegyeongok is at 704-1 Gukchaebosang-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu, on the first floor, across from the Jung-gu District Office. We drove, parked at a public parking lot near Taegyeongok and walked over.

It's not far from Kyungpook National University Hospital either, so if you're looking for a restaurant or lunch spot near Gyeongdae Hospital Station, this might help.
Taegyeongok's atmosphere and tablet ordering
I liked that the whole restaurant feels clean and tidy. You order on a tablet at the table, which was convenient.

Can you bring your dog to Taegyeongok?
Taegyeongok is a dog-friendly restaurant, so we brought Cookie along in her dog stroller.

The best part was that it's a dog-friendly restaurant in Daegu where I could have lunch together with Cookie. That said, other guests are eating in the same space, so if you visit with a dog, please keep an eye on things so nobody is bothered haha
How do the small Seoul-style bulgogi and hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap taste?
What we ordered at Taegyeongok was the small Seoul-style bulgogi and the hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap.

After you order, they bring out the side dishes first, and I liked how neat they were. The sides were seasonal namul (seasoned greens), kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and quail eggs.

Soy-sauce-based hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap
The hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl) is said to be Taegyeongok's signature dish, mixed with 1++ hanwoo (top-grade Korean beef) and seasonal ingredients.

When you think of yukhoe bibimbap you usually picture gochujang (red chili paste) seasoning, but Taegyeongok's version uses soy sauce as the base, so it isn't harsh and is nice and clean to eat.

The seasoning was just right for me as it was, but if you want gochujang you can ask for it separately!
Seoul-style bulgogi in a sweet broth
And the Seoul-style bulgogi I'd been looking forward to comes in a lightly sweet broth with tender hanwoo bulgogi and plenty of vegetables like carrots, mushrooms and onions. Together they made a great combination.

The broth wasn't too sweet or too strong, so it went well with rice, and I finished every bit of the bulgogi and vegetables haha

A chew for the dog too: our Taegyeongok lunch verdict
The food at Taegyeongok was clean and suited my taste, so I could see why people look for it as a Dongin-dong, Daegu restaurant. The tidy atmosphere also makes it a decent pick if you're after a Dongin-dong date spot with your partner. And while we were eating, they gave Cookie a tasty chew as a gift haha

So we had our bulgogi and yukhoe bibimbap while Cookie happily worked on her chew beside us, and the three of us had a lovely lunch.

Taegyeongok, where we could eat comfortably with Cookie, was even better for it! If you're looking for a restaurant in Dongin-dong, Daegu, or near Gyeongdae Hospital Station, and want somewhere you can visit with your dog, it's worth a look.
