Today's review is about a ramen restaurant in Dongseong-ro, Daegu. I once visited Ryusenso in Haeundae, Busan, a famous spot with long lines, and it was so delicious that I wanted to go back — so when the chance came up, I visited 'Ryusenso Dongseong-ro' instead.
The rich broth ramen was just as impressive as I remembered, and the Dongseong-ro branch has a clean interior with well-arranged dachi (counter bar) seats, making it great for solo dining as well as for going with friends or a date. Let's get into the review.

The storefront and where to park in Dongseong-ro

There's no dedicated parking lot, but there's a public parking lot at Gukchaebosang Memorial Park just across the street.

Modern yet exotic exterior — I'd always been curious about the distinctive Hanja sign whenever I passed by. It turns out '용천장' means 'a spring where a dragon lives' in Hanja, and pronounced the Japanese way, it becomes 'Ryusenso'!
The founder apparently took the name from a ramen shop in Japan where they once worked, and true to that name, the broth here is deep and rich enough to earn its place as one of Dongseong-ro's ramen spots in Daegu.

I liked that you can see the signature menu items displayed outside the restaurant too.

There's also a menu board made with cute illustrations, so you can start thinking about what to order before even stepping inside. ✔️Recommended Dongseong-ro ramen spot in Daegu
Open kitchen, counter seats and the mood inside Ryusenso

True to its reputation as a Dongseong-ro solo-dining ramen spot in Daegu, there's a clean indoor waiting area set up right near the entrance.

It's a fully open kitchen, so you can watch the cooking happen right in front of you, which adds a lot of trust. The bar-style dachi seats wrap around the kitchen in a long row, making it great for both dates and solo dining. ✔️Recommended Dongseong-ro ramen spot in Daegu for solo dining or a date

The interior is more spacious than expected, and besides the dachi seats, there are also clean 4-person table seats good for dining with a group.
The menu at Ryusenso and what we ordered

Beyond the ramen menu, there are also Japanese-style sides that pair well with it.

You can also add extra toppings to your ramen.
There are drinks and alcohol options that go well with Japanese ramen too. We ordered Ryusenso (₩11,000), Ryusenso Ebi Miso Spicy (₩13,000), and a Zero Coke (₩2,000)!

If the broth is too salty, ask for more broth; add pepper or 1-2 spoons of minced garlic to taste; take some pickled ginger and mustard greens pickles as you like.
How did the basic Ryusenso ramen taste?

Ta-da! The kitchen made our order faster than expected!
Ryusenso basic ramen, 11,000 won

This is 'Ryusenso,' the most basic and signature menu item.

The creamy, pale pork bone broth is so appealing you can't even guess how long it's been simmered. The broth is deep, rich, and free of any gamey smell, so it's easy to like no matter your taste.

The thin noodles, which hold the broth so well, are also really appealing — and I think their texture actually lets the broth's flavor come through even more.
The soft chashu (braised pork) topping pairs so well with the ramen, and its melt-in-your-mouth texture is a real highlight. ✔️Recommended Dongseong-ro ramen spot in Daegu for rich broth

The egg (ajitama) topping is so soft and mild that I wanted to add another one.
How the spicy ebi miso differs from the basic bowl
Ryusenso Ebi Miso, 13,000 won

This dish combines a savory, salty Japanese miso base with a rich shrimp aroma and flavor.
We ordered it spicy, and I think that made it even cleaner, tastier, and more appealing.

The broth feels richer than the regular ramen.
The noodles seem to be a slightly thicker medium noodle compared to the regular Ryusenso noodles, giving them a different, appealing texture.

The egg (ajitama) and shrimp tempura toppings were also a delicious special touch.

True to a proper Japanese restaurant, pickled ginger is also set on the table, so it's nice to enjoy it alongside depending on your taste.
