Heyri café in Paju: basil tomato ade and donuts to go, Heuksadang

While wandering around Heyri Village in Paju, I spotted a café giving off major modern vibes — Heuksadang. I looked it up and it turned out to be a handmade doughnut hotspot!! No hesitation, went straight in haha. Honest review starts now.

Where Heuksadang is in Heyri Village, plus hours and parking

Heuksadang is a large café at 37-10 Heyrimaeul-gil, Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are Mon–Fri 11:00–19:30, Sat–Sun 10:30–20:30, and it offers takeout, group seating, parking, and pet-friendly seating. Parking is in the lot right in front.

A lot of the restaurants and cafés in Heyri Village have no parking or very tight spaces, but this large café Heuksadang has a genuinely huge parking lot!! Parked with zero stress thanks to that!!!

There are also outdoor tables out front. The weather was breezy so quite a few people were relaxing outside. A terrace where you can soak up all of Heyri's calm, quiet atmosphere!

Heuksadang is known for handmade doughnuts, but it also has 4 kinds of bingsu (shaved ice). I really wanted to try the bingsu, but decided on doughnuts for today.

This café has won a Blue Ribbon Survey award two years running, in 2025 and 2026! Reading the details, the fact that the doughnuts and bagels are 'made in-house' seems to be the biggest reason for the award. Expectations maxed out!

Inside Heuksadang: dog-friendly first floor and second-floor seating

Inside, Heuksadang goes up to a second floor, and the ceilings are really high. On the first floor there's a long table facing a full window wall, plus modern, stylish seating.

I visited during the Chuseok holiday so it was pretty crowded, but with the high ceilings and generous spacing between seats, it didn't feel cramped or stuffy at all.

On the wall there's a huge coiled snake sculpture? — seems to be the café's mascot. Super cool, honestly..

On the left side of the first floor there's a separate dog-friendly area. Regular customers can sit there too. When we visited there were customers there with their dogs, and they looked so happy spending time together haha.

Go up the stairs to the second floor and there are more private, quiet seats.

It's a long, corridor-like space with 4-person tables and window seats too. On a quiet weekday it'd be perfect for getting work done. There are paintings on the walls too, giving it almost a gallery feel.

What handmade doughnut flavors Heuksadang has, and the takeout boxes

The doughnut case had about 8 flavors on display — crème brûlée, mugwort, injeolmi (sweet rice cake), raspberry, chocolate, tiramisu, black sesame, and lemon. The lineup seems to change depending on the day.

Peeking into the doughnut case with my heart racing~ Fell in love just from the colors alone ㅠㅠ💜💙❤️ Even in the evening, the case was still full of big, fluffy-looking doughnuts. I figured they must be baking fresh batches nonstop! Everything looked delicious so after a long deliberation I decided to try the most popular one — crème brûlée!!

If you buy several doughnuts, they can be boxed up for you. There were stacks of boxes in different sizes piled up. Seems great as a gift or a Paju travel souvenir?!! 👍👍👍

Heuksadang's drink menu and the meong-puccino for dogs

Heuksadang also has quite a wide drink and coffee selection! An Americano is ₩5,500, reasonable for a metro-area tourist spot. There's matcha, strawberry, chocolate latte, smoothies, grapefruit honey black tea, and a bunch of ades. Basil tomato ade was such an unusual item that I had to order it!

What's unusual is that there's a 'pet menu'!! Since it's a dog-friendly café, they sell a meong-puccino for dogs 🐶

How the basil tomato ade, café latte and crème brûlée doughnut tasted

Ordered a café latte, basil tomato ade, and the crème brûlée doughnut! I did takeout, and the drinks came out faster than expected, plus the doughnut was neatly packed in a box case!!

I was curious so I ordered the 'basil tomato ade' — it has stevia-marinated tomatoes on top. Eating them one by one, they're sweet and tasty haha. The ade also has a subtle basil scent, so it goes down easily with no weirdness at all!! If you want an ade here, I recommend the basil tomato ade 👏👏

And this place is a latte hotspot!! The milk itself is really nutty and the espresso is good too, so the two together have great balance and a deep flavor. If I come back, I think I'd order the latte again haha.

The crème brûlée doughnut is really cute and on the bigger side! It's puffier and larger than a regular doughnut from Dun*kin' Donuts haha. On top there's a caramelized sugar coating, golden-brown (?) and mouthwatering.

Inside, it's stuffed with custard cream, with vanilla bean specks dotted throughout. Even after being taken home and eaten as a late-night snack, it was still fluffy and soft and delicious haha. A taste that immediately tells you why this is a doughnut hotspot!!

I'm not really a fan of overly sweet things, but this wasn't too sweet at all so I kept eating!! Heuksadang, the large café and handmade doughnut hotspot in Paju's Heyri Village — definitely recommend, recommend~!!
