I went to Dongseong-ro with my daughter for a weekday lunch. We were craving pasta, so we searched for good places in Dongseong-ro together, and that's how we ended up at Resting07. We ordered aglio e olio and a whole-bacon pomodoro pasta. The portions were generous, and the quiet seating and the convenient way of ordering stood out too. 😊 So today I'm sharing my review of Resting07, which I visited with my daughter.

Where is Resting07, and how do you get there?

Resting07 is on the 2nd floor of a building at 67 Dongseong-ro 3-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu.

It's right in the center of Dongseong-ro, close to 2·28 Memorial Central Park, so it's easy to find. It's also within a 10-minute walk of Jungangno Station on Daegu Metro Line 1 and Banwoldang Station on Line 2. I took the subway that day. There's no dedicated parking lot, so if you're driving, check the nearby parking lots before you set out.

After the meal, you could stroll around 2·28 Memorial Central Park or walk a bit further to the National Debt Repayment Movement Memorial Park. For anyone who wants to combine a meal and a walk in Dongseong-ro, I felt the location was a plus.

What's the atmosphere at Resting07, and is it good for talking?

Inside Resting07, there were regular hall seats and a separate, divided-off space as well. It had a mood that suits eating while chatting quietly, and the tables in the hall were spaced fairly generously.

Sitting across from my daughter for lunch felt comfortable. There was also a baby chair in a corner of the restaurant.

Good to know if you're visiting with a small child. Since the restaurant is on the 2nd floor, you can also enjoy the street view if you sit by the window.

A table ordering device, so no need to call staff

One thing that impressed me at Resting07 was the table ordering system.

You can order food right from your seat, and you can even request things like aprons or tongs through the device, which was really convenient. I liked not having to call a staff member over.

It was a weekday lunch, so we got in right away with no wait. After we ordered, the bread came out first, followed by the pasta.

We didn't wait long for the food, so we could take our lunch hour at a relaxed pace.

How does the aglio e olio with lots of sliced garlic taste?

What I chose was Resting07's aglio e olio pasta. Looking at the plate, the sliced garlic was really plentiful, and it caught my eye first. As someone who loves garlic, I found myself eagerly eating every single slice.

It was slightly spicy but not greasy. The seasoning was just right too, so it never felt heavy while I ate. Above all, the portion was quite a lot bigger than I expected. After finishing one plate, I was nicely full.

If portion size matters to you when looking for a pasta place in Dongseong-ro, keep this in mind.

The whole bacon pomodoro pasta my daughter picked

My daughter chose Resting07's whole bacon pomodoro pasta. This dish had a lot of bacon in it.

My own pasta alone filled me up, but I was curious about hers, so I tried a little. One bite and I could taste the rich flavor of the tomato sauce.

It had a different charm from the aglio e olio I ate. Ordering two different pastas was fun too, since we could compare the flavors.

Next time, in the evening with a glass of wine

This time I only had pasta at Resting07, but next time I'd like to enjoy it a little differently. How nice would it have been to have a ricotta salad and a glass of wine alongside? I want to come back in the evening and order a good mix of salad, pasta and even steak.

I'd like to use it as a place for a get-together as well. On that day, I'll definitely bring people who eat well and eat a lot. 😊 That way the fun of sharing and tasting lots of dishes will be even bigger.

Overall verdict on a weekday lunch at Resting07

Lunch with my daughter on a weekday at Resting07 in Dongseong-ro was a happy one. The aglio e olio had plenty of sliced garlic and was spicy without being greasy, which suited my taste. We got to try the whole bacon pomodoro pasta too, which was a nice change.

I'll also remember the generous spacing between seats, the space where you can talk quietly, and being able to request what you need from the table kiosk. There's a cute baby chair in the restaurant too. Next time I'd like to come back for an evening get-together and enjoy several dishes with wine. On a day in Dongseong-ro when pasta comes to mind, it's a place I'd like to visit again.
