Café near Gosan Station, Daegu: Blueberry Pie & Pink Lemonade at Aroke

The day before my wedding, I came to Daegu and finally stopped by the dessert café Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch (아로케 대구시지점) after a long while! The atmosphere is great, the desserts are all delicious and the coffee is good too, so this is already my third visit to this Sigi café in Daegu!

Where is Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch, and what about parking and hours?

Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch is open daily 10:00–22:00 and is close to Exit 2 of Gosan Station. If you drive, there's parking right in front of the shop! It sits on a big main road, so it's easy to get to by car haha

What is the atmosphere like at Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch?

The interior is modern and clean with a lovely mood, and the space is quite big and quiet, so it's great for chatting ☺️ There are all kinds of tables, so it works for a date, and I saw plenty of people working or reading alone. And that sofa is totally squishy and soft~ haha

Aroke Sigi menu: roasted coffee and drinks

At Aroke you can enjoy specialty coffee roasted in-house and tasty, fresh bakery items baked every day. And a café that does both coffee and baked goods well is rare, right! But Aroke Sigi really does have good coffee and quite high-quality bakery items 😆

I loved that when you order coffee, you can choose from 3 kinds of beans to suit your taste, and you can choose the beans not only for espresso coffee but for cold brew too~~!!

Besides coffee, there's a wide range of drinks too, like non-coffee lattes, ades, frappes and teas.

Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch: stamps, drip bags and baseball discount

Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch has a point-collecting system and sells drip bags separately, and if you join the Naver receipt review event, they give you a drip bag^-^

On baseball game days, if you come wearing a baseball jersey or show that day's ticket, you get a whole 15% off! ⚾️🧢⚾️🧢 It's close to Samseong Lions Park too, so stopping by to cool off on the way to the stadium sounds good, right??!

What kinds of bakery items does Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch have?

On one side of Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch, the desserts are neatly displayed.

From the basic salt bread (소금빵) to mocha, red bean paste and butter (angbutter), potato cheese and Dubai salt bread.

There were also chapssal-tteok (glutinous rice cake) pastry, olive sticks, apple pastry, pizza pastry, almond croissants, castella croissants and Dubai croissants. I heard the bakery lineup was renewed from June, and I could see lots of pastry-type breads~

Raspberry pie, blueberry pie, yuja kouign-amann, choco kouign-amann, ube kouign-amann, peanut kouign-amann, and 5 kinds of financiers too! Many were already sold out, but there was so much that looked good that I walked around once, then once more, before choosing haha

What does the pink lemonade taste like?

Aroke's pink lemonade (₩6,500) is a nicely tangy lemon ade 💕 With a name like that I assumed pink coloring had been added, but it's actually lemonade blended with a brewed tea that tastes of rooibos and pineapple!

So the aroma is much better and the color is gorgeous, and it isn't a lemonade that's too sweet or too sour. It was softer than a regular ade and pleasantly sweet-tart, so delicious!

Blueberry yogurt frappe

The blueberry yogurt frappe (₩6,500) 🫐 is a yogurt smoothie packed with blueberry compote. Sweet-tart blueberries with refreshing yogurt, so how could it not be good~ haha

It's loaded with blueberries, so the blueberry flavor is strong and you chew lots of fruit pulp, which made it even better. Lots of yogurt flavor and lots of blueberry flavor haha

How does the blueberry pie taste?

Even when you're full, you can't resist bread at a great bakery, right?? haha So I ordered a blueberry pie and one chocolate almond financier.

I guess I was really into blueberries that day haha Aroke's blueberry pie (₩5,600) seems to be a pie made like a pastry, with blueberry jam piled on top 💜 I think it's probably the same jam as the blueberries in the yogurt frappe!!

Crispy pastry, and inside the pie there's, what do I call it,, a sweet paste? The filling was soft and tasty too, and with the freshness of the blueberries, the balance between sweetness and acidity was good. If you like blueberries, give it a try haha

Almond choco financier

The almond choco financier (₩2,500) is a chewy financier with a chocolate coating, studded with sliced almonds. The financier had a rich, luxurious butter flavor, and with the almonds added it was nuttier and had a better texture.

With milk or coffee, I feel like I could eat these endlessly!

Is Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch worth visiting again?

I came to Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch today meaning to do some last preparations before the wedding, but I was so busy eating my drinks and bread that I just ate and left lol Both the coffee and desserts feel made with care, so it's a café I want to visit again♥
