Sorori Sotbap Gagyeong Direct Branch: a new pot rice restaurant in the Gagyeong Jai arcade
Sorori Sotbap Gagyeong Direct Branch, a gimbap (seaweed rice roll) spot in Cheongju, is open 11:00 - 20:00 and located in the Gagyeong Jai apartment commercial complex. This is Sorori, a lunch favorite in Cheongju.

Ginseng chicken pot rice for 17,000 won, salmon buckwheat gimbap for 13,000 won. This is Sorori, a new spot in the Gagyeong Jai apartment complex near Cheongju Ipark!

You can use the complex's parking lot, so let's go straight in!

I'd already seen the pot rice visuals on the sign out front, and it looked so delicious that I walked right in!

Inside Sorori Sotbap: baby chairs and the side-dish self-bar
The Sorori Sotbap Gagyeong Direct Branch space was really clean and pleasant, and there were baby chairs ready, so it was great for visiting as a family!

Sorori is also known for its Sorori rice, and true to a place devoted to pot rice, you could feel the care for it everywhere in the store!

As you'd expect from a pot rice specialist, pots were visible everywhere inside the store! Just seeing the pots lined up neatly got me excited and eager to eat!

The interior was also very tidy and the overall atmosphere was pleasant, making it comfortable to eat. There was also a microwave in the store, free to use for warming up rice!

The self-bar was kept clean too, and I liked that there was a good variety of side dishes prepared!

There was even a note on how to enjoy the pot rice best, so I gave it a read before eating!

Sorori Sotbap is also running various review events, so it's worth checking those out if you visit!

The menu was more varied than I expected, so it was easy to pick something according to taste — I could see this becoming a go-to Cheongju pot rice spot.

Ginseng chicken pot rice, 17,000 won, with octopus, shrimp and abalone
We ordered the ginseng chicken pot rice and salmon buckwheat gimbap right away!

The dishes came out faster than expected after ordering, so the wait wasn't long!

Opening up the ginseng chicken pot rice, there was really a huge variety inside — octopus, shrimp, sweet pumpkin, jujube, chicken leg, even abalone! One pot packed with so many ingredients felt satisfying just to look at! Every side dish was well made too, and they went great alongside the pot rice!

How big is the 13,000 won salmon buckwheat gimbap?
And then the salmon buckwheat gimbap I'd been looking forward to! Above all, the size of the salmon buckwheat gimbap is really large!

Mixing the pot rice with butter and wrapping it in seaweed
After picking the meat off well, you just mix it into the rice with butter, stirring it all together! The chicken leg in the ginseng chicken pot rice was huge too, so I tore right into it! Once mixed properly, the visual looked great too! As the butter aroma rose up little by little! Sprinkling on furikake made it even better! Since the pot rice itself had so many different ingredients, every spoonful brought something new — that was fun too!

Wrapped in seaweed, the butter added even more nutty richness to the pot rice — it was really delicious!

With salmon and egg inside, it's not the kind of gimbap packed with rice like a usual one, so it seemed like a good option when you want something light. The salmon buckwheat gimbap was also bigger and more filling than expected, so I thought it was a really good value menu item!

I dipped the chicken in the ginseng salt too and the leg meat was quite tender, so very satisfying!

And the seaweed soup that came with it had scallops in it, so the broth was really delicious too!

Is Sorori Sotbap good for a family meal or a lunch gathering?
Overall the store was clean and the menu lineup was good, so it was fine for a family meal out and also great for a lunch gathering! Being able to enjoy delicious, filling pot rice in a clean setting made this a really satisfying place! With a varied menu and a pleasant store, it was good for eating together as a family, and also very good to bring kids along!

And parking is free for 2 hours on the way out! If you're looking for a hearty pot rice meal in Gagyeong-dong, Cheongju, Sorori Gagyeong Direct Branch is it — I'm 200% coming back. I ate well and finished the meal in a great mood!
