Gwangalli seaside bar for mala mapo tofu jjamppong: Drunken Kitchen

In short

Drunken Kitchen is a second-floor ocean-view gastropub on the Gwangalli waterfront in Suyeong-gu, Busan. Looking out at the sea at night, the writer had mala mapo tofu with jjamppong noodles (spicy Korean-Chinese noodles) for 18,900 won alongside Daesun soju and Stella draft beer, then added soy sauce egg fried rice because the broth was so good. If you want a night drink in Gwangalli, Drunken Kitchen is the answer.

Gwangalli hotspot, ocean-view bar Drunken Kitchen

Say Gwangalli and you think of the sea, right? That wide horizon, with the pretty Gwangan Bridge across it. Wow, so gorgeous. No wonder everyone visits. You splash around in the water by day, and when night falls, you're on a trip, so of course you have to have a drink. So I want to introduce Drunken Kitchen, a bar that's perfect for drinking while looking at the night sea.

Personally, I think it's the TOP among ocean-view bars in Gwangalli. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere is super classy, the staff are good-looking, the customers are all beautiful people, and the food prices were no different from an ordinary bar, yet the taste was out of this world...! Wow...! Even thinking back on it makes me happy.

Here's my honest review of my visit to Drunken Kitchen.

Getting to Drunken Kitchen and the exterior

Drunken Kitchen is at 21 Gwangan-ro 62beon-gil, 2nd floor, Suyeong-gu, Busan, an easy walk along Gwangalli Beach. I was strolling and looking at the sea, and we arrived in no time.

The exterior alone is no ordinary sight. To my eyes it looked as cool as some Michelin restaurant in Seoul.

You're supposed to go in this way. The restroom is right across from it. But it was our first visit, so we missed this and went in through another door, hahaha. It didn't seem to matter at all, though.

Yep, this is the way we went in, hahahaha.

Atmosphere and ocean-view seats

The second-floor hall at Drunken Kitchen is laid out so the Gwangalli ocean view spreads out to the left. It's seriously so beautiful.

A cool place where only cool people gather. Wow, I felt like I became a cool person too. And the ocean view spreads out to the left. The atmosphere is insane.

What we ordered: mala mapo tofu jjamppong, ₩18,900

The one dish we picked at Drunken Kitchen was the mala mapo tofu jjamppong noodles (spicy numbing tofu and spicy seafood noodle soup) for ₩18,900. For drinks, we chose Daesun, the symbol of Busan, and Stella draft beer.

Stylish Drunken Kitchen menu

Even the menu is this stylish, hahaha. An ocean-view bar in Gwangalli is different in every way.

The table is being set up swish, swish, swish, flowing like water.

Daesun was really clean and smooth. It felt different from Chamisul.

How did the mala mapo tofu jjamppong taste?

Drunken Kitchen's mala mapo tofu jjamppong combines the flavor of malatang (spicy numbing soup) with the strengths of jjamppong. Oh, here it comes!!! It looks like something my wife would absolutely love.

Wetting the whistle with a drink. Ahh!

There's plenty of protein-rich tofu in it too, which makes me happy.

Yum yum, so good. The flavor of malatang, the strengths of jjamppong, and the synergy pulled from those two dishes is amazing. And the broth was so delicious that we also ordered soy sauce egg fried rice. Taking a spoonful of rice and slurping the broth, or drenching the rice in broth, made for a superb taste.

But I got drunk and forgot to take a photo, hahahahahaha. Sorry about that, hahahaha.

It looked like this. Very delicious.

Is it a good spot for a night drink in Gwangalli?

Drunken Kitchen is a bar where you can drink right beside Gwangalli's sea, so it suits a night out. The sea is right beside you, the food is great, and I'm so happy. The drinks just went down so easily, hahaha.

Thank you for creating such a happy time. If you're looking for an ocean-view bar in Gwangalli, Busan, give Drunken Kitchen a visit. You'll be truly satisfied.
