What are the exterior and interior like?

🏠 Atmosphere: Plate in Seonhwa-dong had an overall clean yet warm atmosphere, making it a nice place to come for a meal. The tables were comfortably spaced, so it would be great for a meal with friends or a leisurely meal with your boyfriend.

The menu is especially suited to slow meals over conversation, with dishes like steak and pasta, so I also recommend it as a date-night dining spot in Seonhwa-dong. Rather than feeling like an overly formal restaurant, it is a place where you can comfortably enjoy delicious Italian food without any pressure :)

A menu where you can choose your pasta noodles

Plate is a place where you can enjoy a wide range of Italian dishes, including pasta, risotto, steak, and salads. There is plenty to enjoy centered around steak and pasta, and the steak set stood out because it lets you try several dishes at once.

What I especially loved was that you can choose the pasta noodle style you want!! Depending on your preference, you can switch to regular dried noodles, fresh noodles, or risotto. Fresh noodles have a pleasantly chewy, bouncy texture that dried pasta does not.

🍽️ What I ordered & my review

• Steak set (₩37,900 / +₩5,000 to change to a signature pasta): This set comes with pasta, flat iron steak or pork ribs, salad, bread, and 2 soups, so it was great for two people to try a variety of things.

The pre-meal bread had a flavor and look similar to that from a well-known Italian restaurant, haha.

I was a little hungry before the food arrived, and it really took the edge off. The warm soup was so good too, and perfect for dipping the bread into.

Lastly, the salad was so satisfying and tasty, with fresh vegetables, balsamic sauce, and even granola 🤤🥗

Let me introduce the crowning glory of the set—the main dish!!

Grilled flat iron steak

It was perfectly seared on the outside and medium-rare inside, so the juiciness and texture really came through. The tender flat iron steak was delicious cut into bite-size pieces and eaten with the pasta, but it was also great on its own, letting you enjoy the meat's clean flavor!!

The presentation is absolutely stunning, right ••••

The garnishes were wonderful too—the cabbage steak and mashed potatoes were both so delicious.

Abalone and crab tomalley cream pasta

The abalone and crab tomalley cream pasta (₩15,900) is a dish I enjoyed so much on my last visit too. I chose pappardelle, a wide noodle with a hand-torn dough-like texture, and because it was fresh pasta, the noodles were chewy. Its nutty flavor and charm, so different from regular pasta noodles, went incredibly well with the cream sauce.

There were even two plump abalones in it.

If you are unsure which fresh noodle to choose, I recommend the cream pasta + pappardelle combination.

Things to know before visiting

What makes Plate different from other Italian restaurants is that you can try fresh pasta, as well as change the noodle type or switch to risotto.

Also, they offer ₩1,000 off for cash payments over ₩30,000, and ice cream if you leave a photo receipt review, so be sure to take part ^*^

Overall

If you are looking for something a little different from ordinary cream pasta, I recommend the abalone and crab tomalley cream pasta!!
