Hello! Today's post is about Dot (돝), a tableside-grilled pork BBQ restaurant in Osong. This place has actually been my partner's and my go-to spot for about a year and a half now, so it's basically a guaranteed good meal.
Where is Dot Osong, and what are the hours and parking?
Dot Osong is a tableside-grilled pork restaurant in Osong-eup, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju, Chungbuk, open daily 17:30-22:30 (last order 22:00). It was closed for the Chuseok holiday on September 24-25.

Dot is near Osong Station, only a 5-minute walk away! There's a small parking lot behind the building, but it's on the tight side, so parking on a nearby street or open lot and walking over works fine.
Inside Dot Osong: the room and the menu prices

Right as you walk in, there's a long hallway with coat hooks for your jackets and coats! At BBQ places I always worry about my clothes smelling like smoke, and it's tricky to store bulky winter coats — this little touch was such a thoughtful detail. It's separate from the grilling area, so no worries about your coat picking up meat smell either, haha 😆

Since we booked a reservation right at opening time, I luckily got to take photos of the empty dining room — floor-to-ceiling windows, open view, and the space itself is huge. By around 6pm it was packed and I was honestly surprised; without a reservation there'd probably be a wait!

Here's the full menu at Dot! 📕
- Premium platter for 2-3 (600g) / ₩53,900
- Premium platter for 3-4 (600g) / ₩68,900
- Two-plus marbled brisket platter for 3-4 (800g) / ₩81,900
The set menus looked like great value, so we went with the premium platter for 2-3!
The side dish that comes first: dubu kimchi (tofu with stir-fried kimchi)

Since I timed my reservation right at Dot's opening (17:30), the basic side dishes were already set up like this!

A BBQ place that gives you dubu kimchi (tofu with stir-fried kimchi) as a default side — that's rare, right?
The flavor was exactly that familiar tangy-savory taste, great as a palate cleanser before the meal, and I saved some of the kimchi to eat with the meat too — a great combo!
Premium platter for 2-3, 53,900 won: grilled for you start to finish

The premium platter for 2-3 (600g) at ₩53,900 comes with pork belly, pork neck, and pork jowl, 200g each. They said the meat is aged with Maldon salt, and it had this pretty pale pink color — so interesting!
And here's the thing: you don't have to grill anything yourself, staff grill everything from start to finish! They even coated the grill plate with fat first, haha.
Our meat, sizzling to a nice golden brown... 🥓🥩 Since we ordered the set, they grilled the pork neck and jowl first. The belly came later, separately!
While we snacked on the side dishes we'd ordered, the staff member was next to us grilling, flipping, cutting — so skillfully — then plating it once it hit exactly the right doneness.

We're both terrible at grilling meat ourselves, so we were just amazed the whole time by how perfectly it was done... honestly, meat grilled by someone else really is the best, lol. Pork jowl at places that don't do it well can be greasy and bland, but here it had good thickness, great texture, and tasted amazing!
Bean sprout ramyeon, 3,900 won: the side to order with the meat

This is the bean sprout ramyeon (₩3,900) we ordered as a side. If you like bold, intense flavors this might feel a bit mild, since the refreshing taste of bean sprouts leads — but I think it'd pair really well with drinks.
Free 1++ hanwoo yukhoe with 3 servings or more

And partway through the meal, they brought out yukhoe (Korean-style beef tartare).
Dot gives you free 1++ hanwoo yukhoe when you order 3 servings of meat or more (set menus included)... 💕

It's topped with a generous amount of cheese and minced garlic, and honestly, it's seriously delicious... You can also order more separately, but even the free portion isn't small!

Pork belly last: how Dot Osong times each cut
And funnily enough, right as we were finishing up the meat, the staff member sensed it perfectly and came back over to start grilling the pork belly 🫢

Of the three cuts, the pork belly was my favorite!
Even though I was already full from the pork neck and jowl, it just kept going down easily... I think it would've been even better if they'd grilled this one first.
It's really accessible being right near Osong Station, and I've visited with my partner about three times now because the food and quality are that good! If you live near Osong in Cheongju or find yourself passing through, definitely stop by! It's seriously delicious ദ്ദി >᎑< )♥
