Booking a 6pm Saturday table at Dot Osong

Hi everyone! On a weekend evening I wanted to unwind with good meat and a good friend, so I headed somewhere I'd heard great things about — Dot Osong (DOT), known in Osong 2 Industrial Complex for its atmosphere and quality meat.

I'd heard it was extremely popular, so I made a Naver reservation ahead and arrived at 6pm on a Saturday. Once I got there, I immediately understood why reservations are a must. Clean interior, professional grilling service, and juices that made me gasp — an honest review of a fully satisfying meal, coming up!

Entrance to Dot Osong restaurant

The restaurant opens at 5:30pm and we booked for 6, but when we walked in, the tables were already packed — hard to believe it had only opened half an hour earlier.

Being a weekend, there were plenty of families out for dinner and groups of friends. While we ate, walk-in guests without reservations kept adding their names to the waitlist. If you're planning a weekend evening visit during peak hours, I'd strongly recommend booking ahead.

Does the smoke stick to your clothes? The dining room and coat lockers

Near the entrance, Dot Osong has a spacious dedicated coat storage area, so I could stash my jacket and bag comfortably — and best of all, there was none of the thick smoke or oil smell typical of a Korean BBQ place. The ventilation system is so good that my clothes didn't pick up any smell even after the meal, which made everything really pleasant. The lighting and interior overall were modern and polished — an upscale atmosphere that works just as well for family gatherings, company dinners, or dates.

Side dishes and the free hanwoo tartare

As soon as we sat down, a clean, neat spread of side dishes arrived. Starting with tofu kimchi topped with stir-fried kimchi, there was also perilla-leaf pickled radish wrap, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), savory seasoned namul, scallion salad, fresh wasabi, and even premium Maldon salt — all pairing beautifully with the meat. If anything ran low, you could easily order more via the tablet at each table.

What stood out was that Dot Osong gives you free 1++ grade hanwoo (Korean beef) yukhoe (beef tartare) on your first order of 3 or more servings of meat. Calling it a 'service' item feels like an understatement — the fresh beef rump paired with a savory seasoning made for a fantastic appetizer to whet the appetite before the main event.

Complimentary 1++ grade hanwoo tartare

For a hearty meal for two, we ordered the premium pork neck and premium pork jowl, along with bibim jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles) and fluffy steamed egg to go with it.

Out came thick cuts of aged meat with a bright, rosy color. Dot Osong's biggest strength is that experienced staff grill the meat for you from start to finish, with real care!

From the nicely marbled pork jowl to the pork neck, they grilled everything without burning it, serving each piece at its juiciest and most tender. Not having to grill it ourselves meant we could just relax and focus on catching up — genuinely comfortable.

A perfectly grilled piece of pork jowl and pork neck

Pork jowl: a chewy yet crisp texture with a rich, savory burst of fat flavor in every bite.

Pork neck: not dry in the slightest — soft and moist like a cube steak, with the deep umami and juiciness of aged meat spreading through every chew. The first bite is best dipped in just Maldon salt to taste the pure flavor of the meat, then wasabi or baek-kimchi afterward for a clean finish.

Spicy-tangy bibim jjolmyeon and soft steamed egg

Bibim jjolmyeon: chewy, springy noodles loaded with a spicy, tangy sauce that hits the spot. Wrapping a piece of savory, fatty pork with the noodles cut right through the richness — an addictive combination I couldn't stop eating.

Steamed egg: puffed up soft and pillowy in its stone pot, seasoned just right and moist inside — the perfect balance with a spoonful in between bites of the spicy noodles.

Verdict: would I book Dot Osong again?

Taste, atmosphere, and service all came together here, and I could really see why it has so many regulars and repeat reviews.

Table at Dot Osong after finishing the meal
  • Atmosphere & cleanliness: excellent smoke extraction with no smell worries, and a clean, upscale interior.
  • Convenience: expert grilling service that cooks the meat perfectly, plus coat storage.
  • Taste & quality: deep flavor from cross-aged premium Korean pork, matched by fresh side dishes.

This is a place I'd confidently recommend for a family meal, an important company dinner, or a gathering with friends. Walking out after a satisfying meal, my friend and I agreed — 'We're 100% coming back here.' If you're looking for a proper premium aged-pork restaurant in Osong, make a reservation and go check it out!
