Why I chose CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch, a hair salon in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan

I have a wedding photo shoot coming up, so instead of my usual black I wanted to try a brown tone, and that's how I ended up at CHOP Hair in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan. The consultation from booking onward was friendly and the result was exactly what I wanted~ here's my honest review.

CHOP Hair Cheonan Branch: location, hours and parking

Address: 3rd floor, Terminal Plaza, 50 Mannam-ro, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. Walk from the Cheonan Express Bus Terminal toward Shinsegae Department Store up to the intersection — there's a Starbucks in the Arario Gallery building. Facing the crosswalk from there, the salon is on the 3rd floor of the building with Mom's Touch on the 1st floor, next to Moon Tower.

It's on the 3rd floor of Terminal Plaza~ the salon is right there as soon as you step off the elevator.

There's a price list right at the front of the salon, with lengths and reference points clearly noted, which I liked~!

I visited early, but there were already people getting treatments done~

They stored my bag, gave me a gown to change into, and showed me to my seat.

Once seated~ there was also info about membership passes~ using a membership definitely brings the price down a lot~

Wedding color consultation: levels 7 to 9 with no red tones

Head designer Yeonwoo was my designer for the day and carefully checked my hair condition. She started the consultation by assessing my current hair state, then went over the color I wanted and my current condition thoroughly~

I told her I'd be dyeing my hair for the wedding shoot, that I wanted it between levels 7 and 9 with no red tones, and she understood exactly what I meant and got right to it. She even gave her opinion on what hair color style would suit the wedding shoot concept I'm going for — the consultation was so thorough, I loved it~

Before applying the dye, she let me know a drink was ready for me.

I chose an iced americano.

How the coloring went, from scalp protectant to mid-process color checks

Before starting the color, she applied scalp protectant very thoroughly~

Maybe because her hands were fast, applying the dye didn't take long at all~ and she told me something I didn't know — that my hair takes color well. It's been years since I last dyed my hair so I had no idea, but the designer let me know.

While the dye sat and I waited, Yeonwoo came by periodically to check hair damage and the color.

Once the color had developed enough, I went to get it shampooed.

Wait, is this a shampoo spot people rave about?!! During the shampoo she gave me a scalp massage and wow~!@@@ it felt so good, so refreshing~ and on top of that!!

She threw in a hand pack and hand massage as a service too~ the scalp massage was already amazing but a hand massage too?! I left feeling completely healed!

Her hands are just really skilled, I think~!

After the shampoo, she blow-dried my hair. I mentioned I had somewhere to be after, so she styled it carefully with the blow-dry too~ and the result — drumroll!!

In natural light, it looks like this~!

Under brighter light, it comes out looking like this~!

Under strong light it's the color on the right, and usually it's the color on the left~ the color came out exactly as I wanted, so I was really satisfied!!!
