Asan Korean restaurant for family fish meals: Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo right by Tangjeong Station: location and interior

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is on the second floor of the Ramada Encore Hotel building, right in front of Asan Tangjeong Station. I came by because it had been a while since I'd had some delicious Korean food.

Get off the elevator and head inward—you'll see it right away.

As you can see in the photos, the inside of Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch was really spacious and clean. It felt like such a nice place for a family meal, too.

The window seats look out over Tangjeong Station, and I loved how open and airy the big windows felt, haha.

There is a self bar toward the back, and I photographed all the side dishes there, so keep reading if you're curious . .♡

One side of the self bar has children's bowls and utensils as well as a microwave, making Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch a really great place to bring kids.

Grilled-fish meal menu and ordering

You can conveniently order and pay right at your table using the tablet. The set-meal menu includes grilled mackerel, grilled atka mackerel, grilled Spanish mackerel, seasoned grilled mackerel, braised aged-kimchi mackerel, and grilled Jeju hairtail.

When you order a grilled-fish meal, you get grilled fish plus access to the unlimited 14-dish self bar, so it is a great-value menu. There is also a Korean set meal option for using just the self bar without grilled fish. They also have a Naver receipt review event.

I photographed the tablet, but the glare made it hard to see, so I'll just write it here: a photo review reportedly gets you a bowl of rice, a drink, or ice cream.

What are the unlimited self-bar side dishes like?

Unlimited self bar

I honestly went in thinking only about the grilled fish, then was surprised by the quality of the unlimited self bar at Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch. The rolled omelet and spicy stir-fried pork were both total rice thieves.

There was braised tofu and japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), too! They also had several kinds of seasoned vegetable side dishes. I liked that the self bar was kept very clean as well.

Soft-serve ice cream is available after you order, with no limit on the number of times, so you can have as much as you want.

There was omija tea, maesil tea, and coffee, too. I meant to have the maesil tea, then forgottt...! I remembered that I forgot while writing this blog post ^,^ If you go, don't forget—make sure you try it . .

There were ketchup, sesame oil, and bibimbap sauce, too. They said to ask the staff if you need a bibimbap bowl. It would probably be delicious to pile on some side dishes and make bibimbap, haha.

Once you order and the table is set, you will get the four-compartment dish shown in the photo. Use that dish to bring back your side dishes from the self bar.

Grilled Spanish mackerel and seasoned grilled mackerel meals

What a generous spread. With a grilled-fish meal, you can choose a regular bowl of rice or upgrade to pot rice; the pot-rice upgrade costs an extra ₩1,000. We just ordered regular rice. Three basic side dishes and miyeok-guk (seaweed soup) came with it.

I ladled the miyeok-guk into a bowl for the photo. The broth was rich and delicious.

These are the generously filled plates of side dishes we brought from the self bar. The rolled omelet was moist, almost like steamed egg, and delicious, while the spicy stir-fried pork was seasoned perfectly and so good ..! Every other side dish was tasty, too, so I felt like I could have a really satisfying meal even with only the Korean set meal, haha.

We ordered the mackerel as the seasoned grilled-mackerel meal, so it arrived topped with a red sauce. It was not spicy, making it just right to enjoy.

The seasoned grilled mackerel was browned beautifully, and its naturally nutty, clean flavor was joined by a sweet-and-spicy sauce for extra savoriness! It is the kind of dish that makes rice disappear, so it was even more heavenly with rice.

The grilled Spanish mackerel came in two pieces, and just looking at how thick they were, I could tell there would be lots of flesh. It was clean and mild, with moist flesh, and delicious.

The mild, thick flesh was perfect with rice! It was so delicious with the rice and Spanish mackerel, plus the doenjang-based dipping sauce that came with them. There were leafy wraps, too, so I made ssam (wrapped bites)—and once again I felt that Korean food really is the best.

Busan-e Tteun Godeungeo Asan Tangjeong Branch is a great Korean restaurant that opened right in front of Asan Tangjeong Station. The neat, delicious grilled-fish meals and unlimited self-bar side dishes were all so good that I would recommend it for a family meal or get-together!
